“We’re on a tight schedule today. We need to work with the natural light, and our permit is good for today only. You go and help Augustus change again. We’ll see you on the Lancaster Walk.”

Linda went to help Kai with his gear.

CHAPTERFOUR

“Looking good, my Lord,” Kai shouted from behind the lens of his camera.

“Will you stop calling me that, Kai? For the last time, Aug is fine, and so are you.” Augustus winked at the photographer.

“Righto.”

I giggled at how flustered Kai sounded under the attention of Augustus. The viscount had such a charm that no matter who he spoke to, they were affected by him.

Kai pointed at me momentarily. “Are you ticking off the checklist of poses I gave you, Sienna?”

I held up the notebook in my hand. “I sure am. You’re making good time, Kai.”

“And taking some killer pictures to boot.” He winked before getting back to it.

The trick was to keep busy, and I wouldn’t feel the loneliness so much. I quickly went over Linda’s checklist as well. If I made myself as useful around the shoot as possible, they would see exactly what being here meant to me. I wouldn’t be squandering away this incredible opportunity Tate Rawlins had helped me get. I needed to draw the true Sienna back out.

Linda tapped her finger against her mouth. “I know this is supposed to be a shoot for the men’s section of the catalog. But Kai, we have a wonderful opportunity here.”

Kai lowered his camera. “What are you thinking, Lind?”

The pair huddled together, but I inched closer to catch their conversation. “We’re in Kensington Gardens with Augustus Huntington and his beautifully restored car. This backdrop of the autumn leaves is too incredible to waste. We need some couple shots with the women’s line too.” Linda spun on me.

“Who are we going to get on such short notice?” Kai queried. “Esmeralda is visiting her latest sugar daddy in Monaco, Jenika has the flu, Erina won’t work with me anymore, and Kristen is on a photo shoot in Majorca with Givenchy.”

“What about Cheri or Shelby?”

“Not Shelby Cox?” Augustus wrinkled his nose. “Sleek, tall African woman with the beautiful bronze skin tone?”

Linda glanced at Aug. “You know her?”

“Yep. I doubt she’ll work with me. We didn’t leave each other’s company on the best of terms last time.”

“What do you mean?” Linda asked, and I could sense the tension in Linda’s voice.

Augustus grimaced. “I slept with her, then she flipped out when I told her it was a one-time thing.”

Linda rolled her eyes.

“I don’t do forevers.”

Augustus was so nonchalant about the whole thing.

That right there, folks, was whyIwouldneversleep with him.

“I’ll give Cheri’s agent a call.” Looking up Cheri’s agent on the new list of contacts I’d entered into my phone, I was soon dialing a number. I paced while I waited for an answer. And waited. And waited.

“You know, there is a much faster solution to this idea of yours, Linda,” Augustus piped up.

“There is?”

Augustus drew his bottom lip deliciously between his teeth and jabbed a finger in my direction.

I nearly dropped my phone on the pavement.
