Page 137 of Desiring Them

I kissed her lightly, careful not to disturb our recently applied makeup.

Someone cleared their throat, interrupting our intimate moment.

“As sexy as this all is, you might want to save it for after the wedding,” Augustus suggested. “You have two eager grooms downstairs who are chomping at the bit to marry you both.”

Riva and I broke apart.

“Oops,” I said.

We both giggled once more.

Augustus buttoned the front of his jacket and pinned me with his sharp gaze. “Are you certain you’re all right with me marrying Ruben, hotness? You and he were an item well before any of this.”

I pulled Augustus into my arms. “For the last time, yes. That way, we will all have the Huntington name, and so will our children.”

“You and Ruben love each other, Augustus,” Riva reminded him. “You and he marrying doesn’t mean your love for Sienna diminishes.”

Augustus rested his hands on both of our backs. “We have a rather complicated little lifestyle, don’t we, ladies? I, for one, adore it.”

Riva moved to link her arm through his. “Augustus, I may not beinlove with you, but I do love you like family. So, let’s join this family in matrimony.”

With a smile, Augustus pecked Riva’s cheek. “Well said, darling. Now, let’s get a move on.”

I took Riva’s and Augustus’ hands, and together, we made our way out to the garden.

Only our closest friends and family members attended the ceremony. My parents, Ruben’s mom and stepdad, and Lou and her guys had all made the journey from Wayborough Shores for the special event. Riva’s family was here too, along with the members of Mad Lurchers, and Emily, Jeremy’s cousin from his mom’s side.

Riva and I had decided to dispense with our fathers giving us away in favor of giving each other and Augustus away instead. So when we arrived at the start of the aisle, we clasped our hands together, holding our matching bouquets of white English roses, and began walking down a carpet of mixed rose petals in muted shades of various colors. Augustus was in between us, proudly carrying us on either arm.

Jeremy, Cruz, and Ruben both stood at the altar with big smiles on their faces. They all matched, from their light blue linen suits and dark blue ties down to their floral buttonhole arrangements and brown leather shoes.

A slight breeze rolled across us as we walked, blowing my one-shouldered, Grecian goddess-inspired gown out behind me.

When we reached the altar, the officiant began his sermon. “Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in the presence of these witnesses to join Sienna and Cruz, Riva and Jeremy, Ruben and Augustus in matrimony, which is commended to be honorable between all those in Heaven and on Earth, and therefore is not to be entered into lightly, but reverently. If any person can show just cause as to why they may not be joined together, let them speak now or forever hold their peace.”

We all waited the allotted few moments, but we knew we were in the clear.

The officiant continued, “Who gives these people to be wedded?”

“We do,” Ruben’s mother, mine, and Riva’s fathers said all at once.

“Very good. And now to the vows.”

We each read our vows to each other in turn, promising to love and respect and cherish one another. Once the rings were placed on our fingers, the officiant proudly announced, “I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Huntingtons, plural. You may all kiss your partners.”

Jeremy bent Riva over backward as he kissed her to the sound of everyone’s cheers. Cruz kissed me passionately and slowly, making my toes curl. When Augustus sensed Ruben’s hesitancy, he took command and gave our nerdy guy such a hot kiss that it left Ruben breathless and flushed. With a smile, I reached over, and we squeezed one another’s hands.

The guests threw rose petals through the air as we all rushed back up the aisle and to the safety of the garden reception room in the house. The six of us continued through the room, past servers waiting with champagne and hors d’oeuvres to the privacy of the library.

Somehow, in all of the excitement, I hadn’t even noticed that Riva had quickly claimed back her baby, but there he was, safe and sound in her arms. When we reached the room, the officiant oversaw the signing of the marriage certificates with Louisa and Tate as our witnesses.

“Well done. Now, I’ll have this sent off to the correct people straight away, and in two days, you shall be officially married in the eyes of the law.” The officiant smiled warmly at us. “Congratulations are in order. It was a wonderful pleasure to be a part of this splendid triple wedding.”

We thanked him profusely as he made his exit.

Louisa got to her feet and smiled through teary eyes. She took mine and Ruben’s hands and squeezed. “My best friends are both married.”

“I almost can’t believe it,” I gushed.
