After seeing his partner’s face, Neal cut in. “Storm, what was the call about?”
“Our girl’s baby just showed up.”
“Who?” Ruby questioned.
“Sorry, we can’t go into it but the girl I rescued from China whose baby was stolen… well it’s home. We have to go and talk with the people involved. But first, we’ll take you back to Jill’s.”
Ruby looked between him and Neal and grinned. “You’re both itching to dump me and find out what happened, aren’t you? I understand. Go. I’ll find my own way to the restaurant. The more you agents learn, the safer I’ll be.” She turned to Kurt; her hand reaching for his. “You know I’m fine now. Go.”
