I lifted my head high, refusing to be embarrassed about my body, or what it was currently covered with. “I’m inmyhouse,” I said. “I will get as comfortable as I want.”

He put his hand to his chest. “Please,” he pleaded. “Don’t mistake what I said as a complaint, or criticism. I’m admiring the fuck outta the view,”he confessed, the lust in his stare supplementing his words.

I propped my hands on my hips. “Whyare you flirting so hard with me?”

He shrugged. “I’m feeding off the energyyou’regivingme. Ask yourself whyyou’reflirting so hard.”

My lip curled. “Nobody is flirting with you, Onyx.”

“I beg to differ. You invited me in here with you barely dressed. You fed me.Chokedme.”

“No ass stuff though,” he said, undeterred by my attempts to not engage him inthatline of conversation. “I’m very secure in my masculinity, so it’s not that—it’s just not in line with my interests you know? But if you wantmeto put it in—”

“Get the fuck out of my face!” I snapped, finally, and he laughed, tossing his hands up as he backed away.

“I’m sorry,” he said, and I rolled my eyes.

“No you’re not.”

He smiled.

A more dazzling sight than it really had any right to be.

“I’m not,” he admitted. “Good night.”

I was finally able to heave a sigh of relief as he turned toward the door I’d pointed him to.

Good damn night.

This whole encounter had me all…
