Her eyes hold mine for a beat, annoyance written all over her face. She rolls her lips together, pulls her sunglasses back down over her eyes, and walks away. This time I don't stop her.

It's9pmSaturdaynight, and I'm headed out to club Social with Ethan and Grant. Club Social is in the town of Arrowhead, which is a rundown shithole if you ask me, but Grant said his cousin was going there tonight, and it was worth checking out. While it might be in a drab part of town, it has the type of entertainment we're looking for tonight.

Basically, that means hot girls and easy E. I drove tonight as soon as I heard where we were going. Ethan and G wanted to Uber, but I wanted to be able to bounce fast, knowing this place was going to suck.

My foresight is proven appropriate the minute we pull up. I'm convinced we're in the wrong place. We're in the middle of what appears to be a shipping distribution hub by the river.

Grant grabs my shoulder from the back seat. "This is it, bro. Pull around to the other side of the building."

Pulling around, I notice a lot full of cars, so I grab a spot by a light post to avoid getting robbed. This place has shady written all over it if you ask me.

"Why do I get the feeling this is going to be a terrible night? Where the hell is the front door even at?"

Ethan claps my shoulder as we start walking up towards the only door located on the metal building.

"Auggie baby, you need to chill and get your head right. We're here for a good time. Don't even think about ghosting like you did last time. Shit, if you need to start swooning over Carson again just to get over Gianna, then do it but stop being so fucking lame!"

I told them about my meeting yesterday, where I found out how Gigi was closely linked to my family through her mom, and the fact that she was only eighteen. They fucking laughed like it was no big deal. Maybe it's not in the scheme of things. The older we both get, the more acceptable the seven-year gap would be, but I don't think that's what pissed me off. If anything, I think I used it as a crutch to push her away because I didn't want to face my own emotions.

"First off, don't fucking call me Auggie. You know I hate that shit. I ghosted you assholes because you tried to set me up on some bullshit date I didn't want, and if that's what I have to look forward to walking through this door tonight, let me know now so I can turn around and leave."

Grant throws his head back laughing. Ethan caught him off guard that night too, and he got stuck playing wingman with two chicks that night after I ducked out. "That's not the plan tonight man, I promise."

We get to the door, and you can hear the bass from the music inside before we even open it. I'm taken back by the atmosphere when we walk through the doors. It is not what I expected from the outside. It's a distribution center turned into a club. The concrete floors have been glazed obsidian with streaks of silver running through them. Dock doors line the back wall of the building and in front of them is a bar that runs the length of the warehouse with giant TVs above playing music videos. The ceiling is painted black, so the big ass fans and ductwork pop out and give it an old renovated warehouse vibe.

They've created two levels. The main level is the dance floor, skirted by pub tables and booths. The upper level that frames the entire space appears to be a VIP section seeing as how you can't really see what's going on up there. Strobe lights beat with the rhythm of the music, and the seating areas are lit by soft blue backlighting. Definitely not what I was expecting.

We make our way to the bar, order Manhattan's, and before I know it, Grant's cousin Ray has found us.

"You guys made it. I was starting to think you would puss out and not show your preppy asses."

Grant goes in for a pound hug. "These assholes might be too preppy, but this place is a gem bro! You've been holding out on me."

Ray laughs. "Come on, get your drinks. We're going upstairs."

We collect our drinks and follow Ray upstairs to the VIP area. I was expecting rows of booths, and there are some, but there are also private lounge areas.

"Bro! This place is legit. I can't believe it's in Arrowhead." Grant is looking around in awe when Ray replies, "Yeah, well, there are tax incentives here to bring business to the area."

Once we're done gawking at the place, I notice the girls bringing the drinks up here are wearing next to nothing and fucking hot as hell. Ethan catches me looking.

"See man, I told you we would have a good time tonight."

I smirk and take another sip of my drink before heading to the rail that overlooks the club. Now that I'm up here, I can see other people standing around looking over the rail. Downstairs you can't tell there's anyone up here. That must be intentional considering the outfits the wait staff are wearing. They are basically wearing pasties and underwear. While it's nice to look at, I'm not sure how legal it is.

Ethan is standing right next to me, people-watching, when I hear him hiss, "Fuck me, bro. I think my next girlfriend just walked in."

Following his line of sight, I see who he's eye fucking, and I go stiff. Gianna just walked in wearing black stilettos, a white mini skirt, and a black crop top tank with a deep v. Her long blonde hair is perfectly straight and almost skims the top of her perfect ass.Fuck

How is she even in this place? She's only eighteen. I made up my mind yesterday that I would let her go. The problem is when I see her now, none of the reasons I've listed for myself to stay away matter. I want her, and I'll be damned if I let Ethan touch her.

Ethan goes to step around me as if to head her way. Before I realize what I'm doing, I've grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and pinned him up against the wall.

"You won't lay a fucking hand on her. Are we clear?" His eyes are bugging out in confusion. "Fuck August, what's your problem? Let go of me, bro."

Realizing I'm making a scene, I release my grip on his shirt. "That's Gianna." Understanding floods his eyes, but he's still pissed. Grant shows up. "What the hell is going on?"

"Fucking August is losing his mind. That's what's going on. The hottest chick in the club just walked in, and he's claiming her like some fucking deranged lunatic."
