“Yeah, me too,” Damon agrees.

My eyes are blurry with tears. When I started this journey, I never thought I’d end up here. Who knew I’d have to travel to another realm to find true happiness?

“Excellent,” Lucinda says. “Liam, I’ll expect you at the council meeting tomorrow to discuss the next steps.”

“I’m not eligible anymore,” Liam says. “Everyone knows I’m not blood.”

“The law says you must have a blood heir to be eligible to rule,” Lucinda says. “It also says that the ruler may choose their heir. The heir does not have to be blood. I’ve been looking for someone to succeed me when my time is done.”

“Are you serious?” Liam says.

“If you can prove yourself,” she says. “And be the leader I think you can be, I’ll consider you for the next King of Glass.”

Liam looks like he’s been stunned silent. I bite down on my lower lip to keep from squealing with joy. Liam gave up everything for me. But in doing so, he might have found even more.

“Tomorrow, Liam,” she says. “Don’t be late.”

She turns and walks away, leaving me sitting there with my mates. After a long moment of silence I start to laugh. How did we get here?

They all join me, the five of us laughing together.

For the first time in my life, I’m truly, extraordinarily happy.

I found home.
