Wraythe just leaned his head back. "Thank you, Zeal."

Eladehl's eyes also slipped closed, and he breathed his own prayer, the words too soft to hear.

"Ok," Amerlee agreed. "Jamik, have her things moved with theirs to a matching set of rooms? I'll catch up with Saval and get everything cleared with her, but if Nari's already living there, it's less likely they'll try to make her move. If you can get Wraythe set up in a guardian space?"

"The High Priest will not like you getting involved," Jamik warned her.

"He never does," she said. "but I'm not about to let him push around my family because he can't handle when things aren't by the book. Are you willing to get in the middle of this with me?"

He lifted a brow. "Darling, do you even need to ask?"

"Not really, but I've been told it's polite." She blew him a kiss and turned back to us. "Wraythe? How badly do you want to be Eladehl's guardian?"

"Pretty sure that's what Zeal intended. The Obligation stuff is a bit of an add-on."

She stepped closer, catching his massive hand in hers. "Enough to take the ring? If you're a guardian, it's harder to make you not one."

His eyes jumped between Eladehl and me. "Yeah. I've always known it was coming."

"Ok," she said. "Nari, take Eladehl to my room, would you? No, scratch that. To Jamik's, so you can have privacy. Get some sleep, talk it out, or whatever you need. When we have a place for you to live, I'll let you know. Probably an hour or two at the most."

"Food?" Eladehl asked.

"Nari, just bang on the door and ask Shalsa to get you something? It's easier than worrying about your lack of clothes. Eladehl? She's exhausted. Make sure Nari doesn't fall on those stairs?"

"Hey?" he asked before she could walk away with Wraythe. "Since we get new mentors, are you available?"

"Only for you," she told him, "and I'm not giving up Nariana."

"Sounds perfect," he agreed, turning to me. "Arm around my neck, my love. You get to rest for at least a few steps."

I could've told him I was feeling a bit better, but I'd have to be a fool to pass up the chance to be carried against Eladehl's chest. I did, however, let him know before we reached the stairs. He still kept his hand on my back, guiding me ahead of him until we made it to the top. Then I took over, leading him to the far side of the temple.

My rap at Amerlee's door was answered almost immediately. Shalsa leaned out. "How did they..." And she smiled. "How didyoudo?"

I jerked my thumb at Eladehl. "He got Body. I got all of them. Yes, all. It's a very long story, we're both completely wiped out, and we haven't eaten anything in a day. Amerlee said you might be able to find us a meal while she works out our mess?"

Shalsa nodded. "You two want to use our room to sleep for a bit?"

"Actually, we were told to steal Jamik's." I shrugged.

"Then I'll have your meals brought there. I'm pretty sure his place is open, but go check? I have a key if it's not."

I walked across the hall and tried the door. The knob turned, letting me in. "It's open," I told her.

"Then go rest, little sister," she told me. "You too, little brother. And Nari? If you need a mentor..." She pointed at herself.

I just nodded. "I'll keep it in mind."

The moment we were in Jamik's room, Eladehl locked the door and let out a heavy sigh. "Why didn't you tell her Amerlee already asked?"

"Because if I'm claiming the Path of the Body, I might need a Body mentor, right? Shalsa would be perfect. I mean, if I evenhaveto change. And I'm too tired to worry about it all right now."

"But it sounds like we're all covered," he said, steering me toward the bed. "I hope your brother doesn't mind, but we aregoingto get naked, and we're going to use his bed once we are. And no offense, but I'm gonna hold off a little before trying this sex thing. Don't want to blow it the first time."

I dropped my robe and pulled back the sheets. "Would you be mad if I said I did it?"

"It?" he asked. "There are so many things I can put in that sentence."
