“We need a bigger place,” Wilder suddenly exclaimed.

Avery lifted his head and eyed his alpha. “This place is plenty big.”

“Kids need a yard. Space to run. The Alpha Quadrant is no place for a family. We need to look as soon as possible. I’ll call a realtor later.”

“I’d be perfectly happy here. I enjoy being amid the hustle and bustle of the AQ.”

“We could be closer to your uncle and your brothers…”

“That’s a good point.”

“And we could use their help once the baby comes.”

“True,” Avery replied.

Wilder grinned at him. “I saw a For Sale sign down the street from Rohan and Gray’s place. It looks like it might need a little TLC, but we have time yet. I think we should give it a peek. See how it feels.” He reached for his phone. “Why don’t I call a realtor right now? We could go look at something this evening.”

Avery stretched against Wilder, his body still languid after their play. “What’s the rush? I thought we were staying in bed and not sharing one another?”

Wilder shrugged. “We have the time now.”

“Meaning?”

Wilder looked away.

“What is it?”

“We got the notice,” Wilder murmured.

“What notice?”

“The Tribunal,” Wilder replied. “They know you’re well enough to stand before them and want to set a date as soon as possible.”

“How long have you been holding on tothistidbit?” Avery asked, sitting up.

“Since we got in the car.” Wilder fell back onto the mattress beside him.

Avery narrowed his eyes. “I knew something was up. Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”

“And ruin the moment? Nope.”

Avery stared at Wilder. “So, while I was focusing on making love to my mate, youwere worried about the Tribunal.”

“As if I can think of anything but you when we’re in bed.”

“There was a storm cloud hovering over everything, and you didn’t tell me.”

Wilder sighed.

“I don’t enjoy having things hidden from me.”

“It was an hour or two,” Wilder said. “I didn’t hold on to it for weeks.”

Avery shook his head. “We’re equals in this thing. Webothshoulder our burdens. I need that to be the way things are between us.”

Wilder caressed the side of Avery’s face. “You’ve shouldered enough burden for a while. I just wanted you to be happy for a little while longer.”

“I realize you were trying to spare my feelings, but don’t. Okay?”
