“Why are you sorry, Kitten?” he asked, his lips brushing my ear. “For loving both of us? Why would you be sorry for having such a big and beautiful heart?”

“Baby.” Calax took my hand in both of his. “I’m not mad. And I’m not letting you go.”

“What?” I stuttered. Calax used one of his hands to wipe away a few stray tears.

“I love you. I always have and always will. I’m yours, and you’re mine. But you’re also his.”

I didn’t understand what he was saying. All I could do was stare up at him like an imbecile hoping that his words would begin to make sense. Maybe if I stared at him hard enough...

Nope. I just looked like a freak.

“I already told you how I feel about you,” Ryder said from behind me. He turned his face into my neck, breath causing goosebumps to erupt on my skin. “I love you, and I’m not letting you go either.”

“I don’t understand.”

I shook my head, scarcely believing what I was hearing. It was almost too much for my heart to handle.

Calax and Ryder exchanged a long look over my head.

“We’ve shared girls before,” Calax began, neck turning red as he blushed.

“But never any that we actually cared about,” Ryder finished.

My stupid heart began to go into overdrive. I was ninety percent sure I was about to go into cardiac arrest.

“What we’re saying...” Calax pressed a big palm to his face and dragged it down. He let out a grunt as words failed him. Taking a page out of Fallon’s book, No Words Language 101.

“What we’re trying to ask you,” Ryder cut in, “is if you would be our girlfriend?”

“Your. Girlfriend?”

Apparently, I was only capable of mechanically parroting words back to them. My brain had stopped.

Adelaide broken.

“So dramatic,” Calax muttered, smiling. Still smiling, he leaned in closer to me. “We would be your boyfriends, and you would be our girlfriend.”

“Like an open relationship?” I asked, stunned. I wasn’t sure how I felt about Ryder and Calax seeing other girls. Actually, I was sure how I felt, and I hated it. The mere thought made me see red.

Ryder chuckled. “No, Kitten. Like a relationship. I would only be dating you, but you would be dating both of us.”

I frowned as I considered his words. “That doesn’t seem fair to you guys.”

Because I got two boyfriends out of that arrangement, and they only got one slightly psychotic girlfriend that they had to share between them. I’m pretty sure I was the winner in this scenario.

Calax leaned forward and brushed his lips against mine. I tensed, aware that Ryder was behind us, no doubt watching us intently, but he just continued to play with my hair as if it wasn’t a big deal.

It was a big fucking deal.

“We don’t want anyone else. We love you and only you. You love us.” Calax shrugged as if it made complete sense.

“It might not be the most conventional relationship in the world, but we can make it work. There are actually a lot of polyamorous relationships in the world. Look at Sam and Lilly, for example. They have a loving, consensual relationship with a third person.”

I glanced between Calax and Ryder.

“So would you two be lovers as well?” I asked seriously, still attempting to wrap my head around everything. And there was a lot to wrap my head around. They both broke into laughter.

“Don’t swing that way, Kitten,” Ryder said, chuckling.
