Tears of happiness trickled down my cheeks as the words spilled from my lips. He was everything I’d ever wanted and I was blessed.

“I was always meant to find you.”

Careful of Denver, he pulled me to him and hugged me closer, then leaned in and took my lips in a soft kiss filled with so much emotion.

Love. Happiness. Desire.

It was almost more than I knew what to do with because I had never felt this way. Then he pulled back and ran his hand up my back, placing it on the nape of my neck, and tingles raced up my spine.

His eyes shimmered with tears. “All I need is you too. You complete me and I never thought I’d feel that way. I love you both.” He looked down at Denver and then back to me. “So damn much.”

Not able to help myself, I leaned back in and kissed him once more. When we parted, we were breathless. “Guess we better save the make-out session for later?”

“If we must, Little Momma.” His hand left my neck and he took Denver from me, once again placing him in the crook of one arm. “Come with me.”

Excitement raced through every cell in my body. Without waiting for my answer, he grabbed my hand and guided me up the porch steps and right into the house.

At the entry, my jaw dropped. It was all so much better than any dream I’d ever had. And it all started with the man that was at my side. I didn’t get to look long or at anything because Kace was pulling me through the house straight toward the back door.

“Wait, aren’t we going to see the house?” He was acting odd again. “Where’s the fire? Are you in a hurry for some reason?”

“Yeah, baby, I am.”

That was all he said and kept going. Then he opened the French doors that led out back and once again I was shocked, speechless.

All our friends were standing silently in our backyard. There hadn’t been a single car out front so how was this possible?

“Where did they come from?”

There was a beautiful little pond and waterfall, surrounded by tall grasses and colorful wildflowers. And there was a wooden arch set up in front of it, with a sheer cream fabric flowing off it. A few tables were set up out to the sides of it all, with a trio of flickering tealight candles on them that looked magical even in the sunlight. I couldn’t wait to see them when the sun started going down. The whole scene was beautiful. Our friends remained still, smiles on their faces and Kace turned to me there on the back steps.

“The fire is in my heart, burning with love for you.” He took a deep breath. I’d never seen Kace so nervous as he had been that day. “I need you to say yes one more time, Little Momma.”

I looked at him puzzled once again.

“Marry me.”

Now I was really confused. I already had said I would.

“Kace, I said I would, you goof.”

“Marry me right now in front of all our friends and make me the happiest man in the world?”

My head turned and all our friends were nodding, and I smiled. Then I looked back at Kace. Nothing was stopping me from marrying the most amazing man on the planet.

“There is nothing I want more,” I whispered.

Kace leaned close to my ear and covered Denver’s with his hands as he whispered back, “You might be singing a different tune when I’m deep inside you and we’re christening every inch of our brand-new home later.”

I wasn’t sure how he still made me blush all the time but my face heated at his words as lust slammed into me. “We don’t have a bed here.”

“Honey, don’t underestimate your man. Or should I say, Superman?”

That sexy smirk was back and I’d forgotten all our friends were watching the exchange until I heard them all laughing and looked back at them again. It seemed Kace hadn’t been all that quiet or the adults were just good at catching the desire rolling off the two of us as he spoke.

I was shocked the kids stayed silent the whole time, especially Embry. But when I glanced at her I could tell she must be under strict orders from her parents but was seriously struggling. She and the other kids hadn’t heard Kace but Embry herself was bursting at the seams to get to the wedding portion. From what I understood, the little girl loved them and was probably already planning her own much to her father’s dismay.

Alley however had a wicked gleam in her eye and of course she piped up with her big mouth. “We’ll make this quick so you can get to the good stuff.” Then she winked.I could tell she knew something I didn’t too.
