"Well—"

"Oh my gosh, Oliver. Don't tell me you don't want Thai food," Foster said, rolling his eyes.

"No, that's not it. I just wanted to say that Rosalie and I are looking for a place."

"What do you mean you're looking for a place?" Foster looked confused.

"We're going to get our own little house together."

"Oh, okay." Foster looked at me and then at Oliver. "So I guess we're not investing in that brownstone anymore?"

"No, I'm sorry. I meant to tell you, but—"

"It's fine," Foster said. "When are you guys hoping to move out?"

"Well, we haven't even started looking yet. I just wanted to square everything away with you, and well, there was one other thing."

"What other thing?" I stared at him in surprise.

"Well…" He cleared his throat. He looked toward Alice. Alice jumped up and ran over to the speakers.

"What is going on? I'm so confused."

Foster jumped up then as well and headed to his room. He came back with a bouquet.

"Wow. Those are beautiful," I said. "Who are they for?"

"They are for you." Foster gave them to Oliver, who handed them to me.

"I wanted him to hide them for me."

"Why are you hiding flowers?" I said, and then Air Supply started playing through the speakers, and my jaw dropped. "I love this song. I've always loved this song. In fact, when I was young…" I said, and then it hit me. "Oh my gosh, no. Wait, what?"

Alice stood next to Foster, and they both stared at me with huge grins on their faces. Oliver licked his lips nervously, and I watched as he stuffed his hand into his pocket and pulled out a little black jewelry box. He got onto his knee and looked up at me.

"Rosalie Sloane, I have known you what feels like all my life and to have known you is to have loved you. We first kissed when you were seventeen, and I've never forgotten the way you made me laugh and the way you lit up my life. And then we didn't speak for five years, and I didn't try to get in contact with you because I wanted you to be able to experience the joys of college and of becoming an adult without me in it. I think I've always known that I've loved you, and a part of me has always known that you've loved me, too. And maybe that scared me, but I'm not scared anymore. You are my girlfriend, the most wonderful, most important, most beautiful person in my life. I have loved you for what feels like a million years and I will love you for a billion more. Rosalie Sloane, will you marry me? Will you make me the happiest man in the world?"

He pulled the ring out of the box and held it up to me, and I nodded. Tears were rolling out of my eyes. He stepped up as he pushed the ring onto my finger, and I grabbed him and pulled him to me.

"Oh my gosh, Oliver James. You are the most romantic, most sweet. Oh, I love you." I pressed my lips against his and held him close to me. He ran his hands down my back and held me close. I could hear sobs coming from the side, and I looked over and saw that Alice was crying with happiness. Foster was rubbing her back and giving her a hug.

"Oh my gosh, that was so sweet," she said. Oliver let go of me, and then Alice ran over and gave me a big hug. "Congratulations. I'm so happy for you."

"You knew, and you didn't tell me?"

"I can't keep a secret, you know that," she said with a giggle and then looked up at Foster.

"You knew, too?"

"I did," he said, grinning, "and I am actually super happy. My best friend is about to become my brother, and my sister is marrying the best guy I know. I'm over the moon."

"Thank you, Foster," I said. "I know we argue sometimes, and I know I get on your nerves sometimes, but you really are the best big brother."

"I know," he said, grinning. He looked over at Alice. "And, hey, Alice, don't you worry. You can have Oliver's room when he moves out."

"Oh no," she said quickly. "You don't have to do that. I don't want to impose."

"No imposition. Any friend of my sister's is a friend of mine."
