When he pulls away, we’re both panting, and I can feel how flushed my skin is with arousal. I wanted to keep very clear lines between profession and personal on this tour, but I can already tell that is going to be harder than I thought it would be.

“I love you, my Calli,” he murmurs as he looks down at me.

My legs feel like Jell-o when he puts me down before I reach up and cup his jaw, my fingers running through his beard. He still looks like he would be more at home at the Mountain Ridge Resort than on the stage and I love that about him.

“I love you, rock star,” I respond with a wink which has him chuckling.

When he shifts from one foot to the other, I know he’s nervous about something. He stares at me with so much intensity that I find myself shifting as well. The last eight months have been the best of my life. I wouldn’t give up a single second of the time I’ve spent with him and not a damn thing would have me giving up the life we’ve built.

Not only did I find the love of my life on vacation with my family, who are still very happy for me, but I found a family which is bigger than I ever imagined. I never knew what it was like having sisters, considering Will was my only sibling, but I know now.

It’s amazing. I know I have a whole gaggle of people who have my back. Not only do I have them, but they’ve all accepted my family as their own as well. I’m pretty sure Amelia talks to my mom more often than I do at this point. This year SO flew my family in for the holidays and everything seemed to fall into place.

It was the second time Will had been out to Denver and he was just as excited as he was the first time. I swear if he thought he could drop out of college and move into the SO mansion, he would do it without a second thought. Thankfully, the family won’t let. Though, in a few years when he graduates, all bets are off.

“Why do you look so nervous?” I study Lane, worry filling me. “You’ve been looking forward to this tour so much.”

He grins down at me, but it’s a little wobbly. With a kiss to my forehead, he assures me, “I am excited. I can’t wait to go out there and play all the songs I wrote with you as my muse.”

I blush at his words and remember the first time he played me a song he wrote after meeting me. It brought tears to my eyes and made me feel so fucking seen. He’s such a good man and he’s everything to me.

“Close your eyes,” he whispers, and my eyes snap closed so damn fast I would roll them if they were open. He chuckles and then I hear him move away from me. I’m tempted to open my eyes to see what is going on, but I stop myself. Barely. When I feel the warmth of his body again, he clears his throat. “Okay, open them.”

When I do, the first thing I see is the love of my life holding open a small jewelry box. I gasp, “What? What is this?”

Lane barks out a laugh and wraps his free arm around my waist. “It’s a ring, 007.” He presses a sweet kiss to my lips. “I love you so much. I could give you all the flowery words. I could tell you how much you mean to me.”

I shake my head, “You don’t need to. You tell me in so many ways, Lane. You wrote a whole damn album about me.”

He grins at me and nods slowly. “So, will you?”

I ask absently, “Will I what?” I swear, I’m mesmerized by the ring in front of me.

“Will you marry me, Sweetheart?”

The first few tears spill over my cheeks and I find myself nodding before I shout, “Yes!”

Lane kisses me hard, pouring all his feelings for me into that kiss. Only when we part, our breathing ragged and our eyes glazed over, does he pull the ring out of the box to slip it on my finger. It’s gorgeous, but I don’t really care about that. I would be happy with a plastic ring because it’s about the love and not the jewelry.

The next thing I know, Lane is stripping us and then all thoughts of rings and expectations and tours fall to the side. When he pushes inside of me, all I feel is him. All I know is him.

Lane, my soulmate, my fiancé, picks me up and presses me against the wall. We chase our pleasure together, sealing our promises and our future. It’s so much more than I thought I would find when I was riding with my family to the Mountain Ridge Resort, but things worked out just as they should have.

I became his muse, and he became my everything. I wouldn’t change a single thing.
