Mya

Itold Meredith what had transpired at the gala and what happened when we arrived home. I tried to gloss over the details of the sex, but the girl was living vicariously through me and begged for more. I told her, but I was slightly embarrassed to repeat some of the things that Alex said to me. Mer ate it up.

“Holy smokes, Mya! I think I just had an orgasm listening to the details. Whew!” She waved her hands in front of her face.

“That’s funny,” I replied dryly. “I just don’t understand what happened. Did Alex have sex with me because I looked good tonight, and he was just acting like a man who wanted to get off? I mean, that goes along with his reputation.”

“Yeah, but Alex told you that he hadn’t been with anyone else but his wife since he met her. That is nothing like his reputation.”

“I know. I know.” I clenched my eyes closed, wishing that the images would stop replaying. “It was so incredible, and I can’t believe he just walked away after.”

She shrugged. “Maybe he thought it was so awesome that you rocked his world, and he didn’t know how to deal with that.”

A bark of laughter flew from my mouth as I rolled my eyes. “Yeah, right! I hardly rocked his world.”

“You never know. I mean, it sure sounds like he was really into you. Not just here to get off, but that he really was into you. I mean, how many guys tell you that you have a pretty pussy?”

I laughed. “None! Oh my god! I can’t believe he said that and that I told you. I’m never going to live it down.”

“Or the Angel part, either. Men don’t give pet names to women they only want to sleep with, Mya.” She grew quiet for a moment. “I think you should let it go. Pretend like it was no big deal. We both know that sometimes making something not a big deal, makes them want it to be a big deal.”

“Yeah, but he’s a client.” I groaned. “I can’t believe I used what my boss said to make it okay to have sex with him.”

“Girl!” She grabbed my arm, “At least he can’t fire you if he finds out that you did. The man did tell you to do anything to make him happy.”

I exhaled loudly saying, “I know. Okay, fine. I will go in there tomorrow and pretend like it was just a normal night. Like it was no big deal, and I have sex with random men all the time on my kitchen island.”

Meredith smirked. “Don’t you wish, Ms. Angel Pretty Pussy.”

The two of us began to cackle and kept going until we were both complaining that our stomachs were hurting. Shortly after that, Meredith left, and I climbed into bed and slipped into slumber quickly.

Iwas not so peaceful the next day. I had woken up in the middle of the night dreaming of Alex. My entire body felt electrified as I waited for a touch that would not come anytime soon. I tossed and turned and ended up getting up at five.

I stood in the middle of my bedroom floor and wiped at my eyes, then stared at the tan carpet in my room. Was it weird to think about the fact that Alex was right below me? A sudden vision filled my mind of a violent earthquake and the floor splitting open. Instead of falling to my death, I pictured myself dropping right into his arms.

“I am a freak,” I growled as I forced myself into the bathroom. This is what happens when I don’t get a good night’s sleep. My creativity gets the better of me.

I was in the office an hour early and unlocked the closet where we kept the new phones. This was the first time I had needed to replace mine. Some people lost their phones constantly. I think Marie had replaced hers four times this year alone.

I took the phone back to my office and spent the next thirty minutes setting it up with my phone number. Luckily, I retrieved my SIM card, and I backed my phone up regularly, so downloading everything was easy. When others started to arrive by eight that morning, my new phone was up and running.

Milt called Rebecca and me into this office, and once we were seated, he turned his computer screen around for us to see. There was a picture in the center of his screen of Alex and me dancing.

“Wow! Talk about a rocking photo! What does it say about them?”

I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the photo. To anyone who saw it, it looked like a man and woman who appeared to adore one another. The expression on his face was filled with wonder, love, and humility. Mine wasn’t much different.

“It is a fantastic photo to start kicking off his new image, but we might have to rethink it a bit.”

“To what?” I asked, finally tearing my gaze away from the image.

“To the bad boy is off the market angle.” He said with a grin.

I put my hand up. “Wait, Milt, you know that’s not real.”

“It sure as hell looks real. Tell me, did you seal the deal with him?” He leaned up to his desk, almost as excited for me to tell him that I had slept with Alex as Meredith had been about getting the sexy details.

“I can’t believe you just asked me if I slept with a client,” I snapped.
