Smoke

Istood to the side, watching her and remembering my dream about her last night. She had stepped into my office, wearing something very similar to the burgundy blouse and grey slacks that she had one today, and she had unbuttoned her blouse, leaning over my desk, and said in a husky voice. “Make me burn, Smoke.”

I had woken up with a raging hard-on and laid there imagining what it would be like to bury my face between her gorgeous breasts. As I stood back, I was doing all I could to keep an erection from bursting forth again.

When I stepped into Lydia’s office, laughing softly, she gave me a stern look. “Don’t chase away my assistant. She’s going to be great once she figures things out.”

“I’m not chasing your assistant, Lydia. I was laughing because she suggested something one of us should have suggested long ago.”

I explained what had just happened, and she leaned back in her seat. “How stupid are we for not coming up with that?”

“I know, right? Anyway, I’ll talk to Brett about changing the code to something we might all remember.”

“Good idea. What are your plans today?”

“Well, I was going to spend the day showing Lilly a few more things and give her a tour of the plant, but I just got a call from the school, and Kari is running a fever. I have to go get her.”

“Do you want me to give Lilly a tour?”

Lydia gave me a stern look. “Can you do it and keep your hands to yourself?”

“Why do you think I can’t do that?”

“Because I know you Smoke. She might not look like your type, but I have seen how you look at her.”

“Yeah, well, don’t worry about that. She told me yesterday that she worked for me, and that was all it would ever be.”

“She did?” She seemed more excited than she should have been.

“Yes.”

“Oh, smart girl! I like her even more now.”

“Why the hell is that?”

“Because if she can resist your damn charms, the girl has good taste.”

“What if she hadn’t told me to go away?”

She grinned, leaning forward on her desk. “Did she really tell you that?”

“She did.”

She laughed loudly, clapping her hands and stomping her feet. “I am so happy.”

“But what if she didn’t?”

“I don’t have to worry about that, now do I?”

I stood up, sighing. “Go take care of Kari. I’ll keep an eye on Whiskey.”

“Whiskey? Oh, yeah, you called her that at the bar.”

“Yes, I did.”

“Well, stop thinking about her as Whiskey. Her name is Lillian or Lilly, and she is my assistant.”

“Why can’t I think of her as Whiskey?” I asked as she stood up to gather her things.
