His lips are moving. Full, perfectly heart-shaped lips.

"Piper," I hear him call again, drawing my attention away from his lips and back to his eyes.

That's not any better for my concentration.

"Sorry. I was just thinking."

Go ahead. Tell him what you were thinking about. His lips. His eyes. That body.

Hushing the little devil sitting on my shoulder, I apologize again and do my best to pull myself together. Which isn't that great considering I only half hear what he's saying. I'm grateful when the professor wails on the gong again, signaling the end of class.

"Please take a syllabus on your way out, and read the first two chapters before our next class."

Slinging my bag over my shoulder, I stand and turn my back to Julian as I wait for the students in front of me to exit the row. My mind is running a million miles a minute at the thought of Julian being my partner for this class for the semester. It's already bad enough I have to work with him.

So much for staying away from him.

Eventually, I'll end up doing or saying something stupid. Mistaking his kindness for something it's not. Falling deeper in love with a man who doesn't feel the same for me.

Which, on its own, is a big problem, but if you combine it with the fact that I've sworn off relationships and love, it's only compounded.

"What do you think?" he asks, leaning in close to my ear. I can smell the mint from his gum mixed with the intoxicating scent of his cologne, and the sudden urge to press my lips to his is overwhelming.

See ...bigproblem!

"About?" I ask, clearing my throat to cover the effect he's having on me.

"Helping me? This isn't exactly my specialty. I can cook whatever you want, but don't ask me to break down the nutritional value. Which is why I put this class off as long as I could."

Oh. He wants my help.

"Sure," I say, before I can stop myself. Thankfully, the girl in front of me finally moves forward before he can say anything else. I need to escape his proximity before I agree to anything else.

Because I would.

His scent alone makes me weak in the knees.
