ME: I'm not crazy. I know what I saw. They want each other. Hell, they might be having sex in his car right now.

LEO: Doesn't he ride a motorcycle?

ME: It's winter. He has a car he keeps to drive during shitty weather.

My phone rings, Leo's panty-melting smirk smiling up at me.

"I'm not crazy, I swear."

"I'm not saying that at all. But think about it. If they do want each other, good for them. I just think we should let them figure it out. It's between the two of them. They don't need our help. No one is trying to keep them apart. They don't have a Max standing in their way."

He tries to hide his laughter, but I can hear it in every word. He's probably grinning like a fool.

"They may not have a Max, but Brady can be his own worst enemy."

"Let him figure it out," he persists. "Plus, if Max can get over his shit, so can Brady."

I'm still not convinced Max is over anything. Sure, he still let Leo officially become a brother of the Kappa house. The initiation ceremony was last weekend, and although I wasn't allowed to attend— members only—I was told Max was exceedingly kind with the words he chose to speak about his 'little brother' this semester. He's been welcomed into the brotherhood and is no longer a pledge, though, until the next pledge class, he's still the low man on the totem pole.

Craig, on the other hand, wasn't initiated. That's all I know, and Leo isn't talking about it. Apparently, Craig won't be returning to LSU next semester. Leo will either get a new roommate or he'll have the place all to himself.

I'm hoping for the latter.

So I can become his unofficial roommate.

Not that I don't already find myself in his bed almost every night. We mostly sleep—Craig has been around a lot—but in the mornings, when we have the room to ourselves, we fool around and make sure we both start the day with a smile.

I'm about to respond when I feel something vibrate against my foot. Shifting to poke my head under the table, I pick up the phone that was attempting to assault me and flip it over.

Brady's phone.

Mya is calling.

"I don't think they need our help after all."

"And why is that?"

"Because I have a feeling something is already going on between them."

"Evie." Leo's voice is filled with warning. "Be careful. Don't start spreading rumors. Brady is your friend, and you don't want to lose that friendship over a hunch."

As if conjuring him with just the mention of his name, Brady walks through the door, the bell announcing his arrival. We make eye contact for a brief moment before his eyes flick to his phone in my hand. I raise it over my head and give it a little shake. It starts vibrating again, and when I look at the screen, I see an incoming text from Mya.

MYA: At your place. Where are you?

"I'll call you back," I whisper to Leo before quickly hanging up on him.

Brady's strides carry him across the short distance quicker than I anticipated. When he tries to take his phone, I pull it out of his reach.

"You have some explaining to do."

"I don't have to explain anything to you." He tries to take his phone from my grasp, but I hold tight. "Don't do this, Evie. Please. Just let it go."

Releasing his phone, he turns, my words stopping him before he can retreat. "Why is she at your place?"

Letting out a gruff breath, Brady's head falls to his chest. He doesn't say anything, the tense silence stretching on and on. When his phone vibrates again, he looks down at the screen. Unlocking it, he taps out a reply, then turns to face me.

"What do you want to know?"
