His tongue sliding against mine feels like coming home.

The pang in my chest from missing him all day disintegrates into a distant memory as Alex consumes me.

“Hello to you too,” he murmurs against my lips.

“I missed you,” I tell him, my eyes fluttering open to see him smiling down at me.

“I missed you too, gorgeous.”

Biting my lip, I grab his shirt and bring him down to my lips again, not nearly finished tasting him yet.

Carrying me to his bed, Alex strips me of my scrubs and takes me fast and hard, then slow and sweet – savoring me.

“You’re fucking amazing,” he whispers into the crook of my neck, my whole body lying on top of his, too spent to move.

Smiling against his chest, I lazily swirl circles on his skin, loving the soft, yet firm feel of him.

That’s a perfect way to describe Alex. He has a hard exterior, but a soft inside.

All heart.

He’s the remedy to everything I was. He fills in the cracks I didn’t know were breaking long before I came here.

He takes me apart and puts me back together every time I’m with him.

“Mel,” he starts, then pauses, curling my hair round his finger.

“Hmm?” I manage, drifting off.

I hear him mumble something, but the pull is too strong as sleep takes over and I don’t register what he says.

“Mel?” Alex’s smooth voice coaxes.

“Hmm?”

“Time to wake up.”

“No,” I say stubbornly, nuzzling closer to him.

“Come on, gorgeous, let’s go get some food.”

At the mention of eating, my stomach growls, and he chuckles beneath me.

“Fine,” I grumble.

Opening my eyes, I look up at Alex’s chiseled jaw that’s covered in dark stubble. Reaching up, I run my fingers over the rough surface, loving the way it feels.

His lips are a little swollen from our kissing, and when his tongue peaks out to swipe his lower lip, I grip his chin between my thumb and forefinger and bring him down to me.

I flit my eyes up to see his hooded ones waiting, watching.

Kissing Alex is like capturing freedom, and whether it be a soft kiss like now, or a passionate, rip my clothes off one, each makes my chest clench and then lighten as if the weight of the world no longer exists on either of our shoulders, and we’re floating, flying.

He lets me do whatever I want. He lets me take my time with him without needing more.

I kiss the corners of his mouth, and then his chin before pulling back.

His hooded green eyes are shimmering with something I haven’t seen before, and while I want to believe what I think I’m seeing, I don’t want to get my hopes up. But I already know there’s no going back for me. I’ve fallen hard for this wonderful man that is nothing like I thought he’d be.
