“But–”

“No buts, baby. Except for your fine ass on my lap right now.”

Smiling, I close my eyes and give in to the heaviness I feel.

I can barely feel my limbs as the rapid beating of my heart starts to slow, and the last thing I see before it all goes dark is the look of utter fascination and mesmerization in his green eyes as I found my release.

Chapter 10

My eyes flutter open to a black room.

What time is it? Where am I?

Oh, right. Smiling wide, I bite my lip, and my skin flushes.

Alex is… I have no words. He’s more than sexy, he’s more than amazing, he’s more than, well, everything.

I turn my head towards the sound of light breathing next to me, and blink, adjusting to the darkness.

Alex’s shadow becomes clearer after a few seconds, and my smile widens.

He stayed.

He must have carried me in here at some point after I blacked out from the most powerful orgasm of my life.

Lifting the comforter, I see I’m still naked, and my body heats all over again at the feeling of having Alex’s eyes on me. I felt like I was in a trance. And I don’t think I came out of it until I just woke up a few seconds ago.

Lifting the comforter a little more, I glance over to see what Alex has going on, and I bite back a moan. He’s just in his boxers.

Sweet baby Jesus, he’s practically naked. If I wanted to, I could easily slip my hand inside his boxers and give him something good to wake up to. But not tonight. He said tonight was about me, and I plan on bathing in that glory.

Turning to face him, I curl into the blanket and close my eyes again, falling back asleep with a smile on my face, loving that he stayed.

The next time I open my eyes, early morning light streams in through the window and I roll onto my back, yawning as I stretch out. But I forget I’m not alone, and I accidentally punch Alex in the ribs.

“Oomf,” he says, releasing a rush of air.

“Oh my god, I’m so sorry,” I quickly say, my eyes widening at him.

Alex’s sleepy morning smile and deep throaty laugh melts my insides, and I grip the blanket tighter in my fists.

“It’s okay, gorgeous. No damage done.”

“Good.” I smile, biting my lip.

“How do you feel? Are you regretting anything this morning?” he asks, and I can hear the slight vulnerability in his voice. He’s trying to play it cool, but I hear it.

“Good,” I whisper. “More than good. And no regrets. Not even a little.”

Flashing me a wide grin, he reaches out and brushes the hair away from my face, tucking it behind my ear.

Palming my cheek, he leans in and plants a soft kiss on my lips. “Want me to make us coffee?”

“Yes, please.”

Sliding out of bed, he stands and stretches, and I bite the comforter to keep from moaning.

His back and arm muscles flex and pop with his movements, and when he runs his hands through his hair, he turns and flashes me a knowing smile.
