I rolled my eyes. “You are going to want to let me go,” I said, my voice low. “Trust me.”

I was hoping that he would let me go, so that this did not need to be going any further. This guy seemed harmless enough, but he was drunk, and I knew that drunk men could be unpredictable.

“I thought you said you did not want to play games.”

I groaned internally. I was going to have to put this guy down, which was going to draw attention, and that was the last thing that I was interested in happening.

“Look,” I bit out, digging my nails into his arm. “Let’s just walk away and pretend like we never met. Trust me, that’s going to be the better option.”

He must have been much drunker than I thought because my acrylics barely made him flinch.

“The lady told you to move away.”

I cursed under my breath as I looked up to see one of the Blanchi brothers looking at me. His green eyes were blazing as he looked at the fingers that were wrapped around my wrist.

“Hey man,” the blonde guy slurred. “She came on to me.”

“And I am now telling you to get going.”

All American Ken’s hands let go of me immediately. I rolled my eyes as I watched him stumble away from me and towards his next victim. A part of me wanted to stab him with the knife that was in my thigh holster. My fingers were itching to reach up into my mini-dress and grab it.

“I did not need your help,” I said, turning my head to look at the Blanchi who decided to try and play my knight in shining armor.

His green eyes, which were the color of fresh moss, looked me up and down, and he smirked slightly. “I think that I saved him. Something told me that you would have no issue ending that boy's life.”

I pushed past him, intent to make my way out of the club. I had snuck out of the party without my security detail, and though I could take care of myself, the Blanchi’s were dangerous enough to make a shiver run down my spine.

“Where are you going so quickly? You seemed eager for some fun.”

“Not with you.” I pressed my way through the crowd hoping to lose my stalker. My heart was beating heavily against my chest, and I felt a real sense of fear bloom inside of me. New York was a large city, and I had been frequenting Limelight since I was in high school. I did not think that it was an unhappy accident that one of the Blanchi brothers happened to be hanging out there.

“Hold up.”

I ignored the voice and practically threw myself out of the club. The New York air was cool, and I gulped it into my lungs. The streets were crowded, and I looked around for a cab.

I could not go home. I would not want to bring any danger to Natasha. I had left my gun in my apartment, so outside of my knife, I was helpless. “Fuck,” I muttered.

“Jesus,” a deep voice breathed out behind me.

I turned to see another one of the Blanchi brothers. I literally could not tell the two of them apart, so I was not sure who I was dealing with.

“You are fucking fast for someone in heels.”

I turned around quickly brandishing the knife that I had on me. “What the fuck do you want?”

He held up his hands. “I just want to talk.”

I chuckled. “Talk? I do not know what exactly the two of us need to talk about.”

“The new Pakhan, for one.”

I stiffened before I could stop myself. I knew that he was watching me closely, and he saw my reaction, but I was not going to just openly admit it. “I do not know what you are talking about. My father is Pakhan, and unless you want to end up in the Hudson, I would suggest that the two of us forget that we ran into one another.”

This time he rolled his eyes. “You don’t have any security, and from what I’ve heard about you, I can’t imagine that you are too happy that your father is willing to marry you off to the Petrovs.”

I bit my tongue. I despised that this man, who was my family’s sworn enemy, knew so much about me.

“How about you drop the knife before we draw more unwanted attention.”
