It’s Jamie looking so sexy in jeans and a white dress shirt that I can see his perfect chest through. He hasn’t shaved, so he has a little more stubble than usual and it’s very appealing. He takes my breath away. “Are you going to let me in?”

“I haven’t decided yet.”

“Let me in,” he says in a whisper.

Moving aside, I wave him in and he sits on the cream-colored chair. He looks much better in it than Chase. There’s something about Jamie that turns me on constantly. It’s as if I simply cannot get enough of him.

“How’s Sheila?”

“Fine. How’s Chase?”

“Broken-hearted. He left a little while ago.”

“He was here again? Did you have sex with him?”

I roll my eyes at his ridiculous question.

Shaking my head, I say, “No. He’s in love with me. It’s time to move on.”

“That’s how it works? A rule?”

I nod, “Yes, once there are feelings, it doesn’t work. We move on.”

“Duly noted.”

“Don’t get feelings, okay?”

“I have the feeling that I want to take that dress off of you right now.”

“Sorry, I have plans.”

“With?”

“Not that it’s any of your concern, but it’s a girl’s night.”

“You seem to know many people here.”

“I do. I went to college here. I spend a lot of time here when I’m not traveling.”

“How long are you here for?”

“For a while. Drew wants me to write with a suspense writer for a Romance Suspense Novel idea I’ve been working on.”

“I’m a suspense writer.”

“That’s a bad idea, Jamie.”

“I’m the best.”

“So you say.”

Standing, he moves over to me, inches from my face. He laughs, “I’m not the best? Is that what you are saying?”

“You are skilled in that way.”

“Maybe I’ll campaign for the job.”

Glaring at him, I say, “Don’t mess with my career, Jamie.”
