As on que, I watched him step out of the building. He looked breathtaking yet dangerous in his black armor which seemed to cover every part of his body.

“Kel-sey.”

“Hi,” I smiled awkwardly at him as he stood next to me.

“Hi. Have you made your decision yet?”

“Yes,” I said looking at this side profile, “you won’t like it though.”

He made a sound which sounded a lot like he was hurt. “Is there any way for me to convince you to reconsider?”

“Probably,” even though I was speaking to him, he didn’t look at me, instead he stared forward, “but I don’t want you to try to change my mind. I feel like living at the base is going to be the best option for me. Everything is new to me here, I have to learn new customs and don’t get me started on the technology. I think I can do it best when I am doing it alone.”

“Is this truly the reason?” he sounded hurt.

“Part of it. I don’t think you trust me. Not even a little bit. I can’t see myself being at your place cause you would always be looking at me, to see if I would make a wrong move, to see if I would look through your stuff,” I kept on talking. He probably also found me annoying but I wasn’t going to mention that as my reason.

“It’s not about trust,” Kahma said emotionlessly, “it’s about which place would be safer for you. We don’t know who took you here. I can’t protect you while you are living at the base.”

“And I don’t want to feel like a prisoner,” I hit back.

“You never were one.”

I laughed emotionlessly. “Not a prisoner, huh? This is the second time we have left the house since I met you. When we went to the lake you kept looking at me, expecting me to make a run for it.”

“Woman,” he stepped in front of me, “I kept looking at you cause you werenaked. Only things in my mind at the lake were your tits and your wet pussy.” He placed a hand next to my head, his breath touching my face. “I imagined how I would fuck you for hours. With my tongue. With my fingers. With my dick.”

“So you just want me there as a convenient sex?”

“No,” he ran his nose along my cheek, “I want you there cause I want you near me so I would know you are protected.”

“I wouldn’t be protected at the base?” I enjoyed the feeling of him being so close to me.

“Not by me. I feel responsible for you, little one. Trust comes hard for me, I want you to see things from my point of view. Me not trusting you wasn’t because I doubted your story. I mean it was but it wasn’t because it wasyourstory,” he kissed my cheek, slowly moving closer to my neck as he was speaking, “I would have doubted any story. My first instinct is to not trust half naked women who I find in the forest.”

His lips touched my neck barely before he raised his head to look me in the eyes. I understood where he was coming from. It couldn’t have been an easy time for him. “I get it”

“Please,” he surprised me by saying that since he didn’t come off as a guy who would say please often, “give me a chance to prove who I am.”

“We barely know each other.”

“I know how you like to drink water before any meal. I know how you cry when hearing sad news but you look away to hide the tears. I know all of your Earth-friends by name and how your mother is going through chemotherapy. I might not know everything about you but I know we have a connection. I can't risk it. I might have been stupid not acting on it before but I didn’t do it for the sake of people I care about, I hope you can understand it,” he spoke, using his left hand to push away the hair from my face. “I understand how it’s a lot for you. Finding out who brought you here and if there are others of your kind here is going to be our mission whether you accept to give me a chance or not, but I will never stop trying to win you over, Kel-sey. Never.”

Everything he said made sense. It was a new situation for both of us.

I wasn’t sure how to react to his speech.

I could tell he had done thinking of his own and came up with a result that he was going to fight for. He wanted me living at his place, at times it seemed like he was talking about a lifelong commitment.

“For a guy who barely spoke before, you can’t seem to shut up,” I say instead.

“I know what I want and I want you,” he says as he removes the hand from the wall. “I won’t stop until I have you.”

The look on his face told me he meant each word he had said.

“What about what I want?” my voice coming off as barely a whisper.

Kahma looks at me thoughtfully. “What do you want?”
