“Truth? You know this is all a lie! Wake up from whatever this is. I don’t wanna be a part of it!” I yelled.

“Babe, we can’t keep hiding,” he said softly, placing his hands on my shoulders.

Even on my five-inch heels, I felt so short.

How To Get Away with Murder.I should have joined my best friend, Vina, to watch that series. I could really use some tips right now.

“Babe,” he called, looking straight into my eyes.

He just ruined the meaning ofbabefor me. He was a pro at this. I must admit, the way he’d said the word sounded like he’d known me for a long time. His eyes focused on me, as if whatever love story he’d made up was true.

“I love you, and we are going to bring up our baby together in a happy home,” he whispered, not breaking his gaze away from me.

My eggs are still untouched, dude. They have never seen a sperm.

“What are you gonna gain from this, huh?” I asked, pushing his hands away.

I knew everyone was watching us, amused by my dilemma. I thought of running out of the church, but what would people think about it? I needed to prove my innocence. Running away would only give the wrong message.

Something flickered in his eye.I must prove to everyone he is lying one way or another. Maybe if I piss him off to his breaking point, he will reveal the truth.

“You know what? All I need right now is a doctor.”

I saw fear in his eyes, but it vanished in a second.

“I’m out of here.” I turned to walk away, but he held me back.

“Babe—”

“Don’tbabeme!” I tried to pull my hand away.

Oh, good heavens, I didn’t sign up for this.

“I get that you’re upset.”

“Oh, I am way past upset.”

“Aren’t you tired of hiding, Chloe?” He looked so serious, like he’d just switched personalities with someone else.

For a moment, I almost believed he knew me. I had been hiding, trying hard to fit into people’s expectations.

“We kept hiding because of what people would say about us. Well, I’m sick of that.”

I shook my head in amazement. He was damn good.

“You’re insane!” I yelled and pulled my hand away with all the strength I could summon.

“I know how scared you are, but we can’t keep it a secret anymore. I don’t care what anyone thinks. I’m going to take care of you and our precious baby. We don’t have to live in fear. We can be happy now,” he said in a voice that sounded like he was about to break down.

I would have believed him if I wasn’t the victim. He wasthatgood.

I never thought I’d come across an award-winning liar.

“I stopped the wedding for us, for you, for the baby. I know you’re scared about what people will start saying, but I will always be by your side. We are in this together.” He said it like he was saying his vows.

I was surprised when the congregation chorused, “Awww.”

Come on, people. This is not the time to fall for his charm!
