I spoketo Adrian the next day when he came to the house. He looked pissed after listening to my complaint about Tristan’s attitude toward me. He left for Tristan’s room with clenched fists.

I couldn’t help but smile. Call me a homewrecker. I didn’t care.

I didn’t deserve to be treated this way. After everything I had been through because of him, I deserved the world. Tristan was supposed to be pampering me and offering me anything I wanted on a golden platter.

I sat back in my seat, not sure of what to do. What was Adrian going to do? He hadn’t even said anything after I was done talking. I rocked in my seat, staring at the stairs and at Tristan’s door, where Adrian’s tall form had disappeared.

I didn’t know if his room was soundproof because I waited for many minutes but heard nothing. My heart jumped when the door banged open. Adrian walked out, looking angrier than when he’d left to see him.

“Get everything you need. You’ll be staying at my place until Tristan regains his senses,” Adrian said, taking my hand.

“She is going nowhere with you!” Tristan’s voice boomed from upstairs.

“You want me to leave her here, so you can keep treating her like she’s not important in your life?”

“Leave her alone, Adrian,” Tristan said, coming down the stairs with his long strides.

Adrian moved me to his back, blocking me from Tristan’s reach.

“If you really want this to work, you won’t treat her like crap.”

Want what? Are they referring to me?I was so lost.

“I’m trying,” Tristan sighed.

“You call this trying?”

Tristan was mute. I wanted to see the look on his face, but Adrian’s towering physique made it difficult, even when raised on my toes, I could see nothing.

“Chloe,” Tristan called. He sounded tired, not angry anymore.

I inched forward, but Adrian held out his arm, stopping me. Tristan’s jaw clenched.

“You need her, Tristan. Stop treating her like shit.”

Tristan mumbled incoherent words and ran his fingers through his hair. He walked to the nearest sofa and sat down.

I watched him as he buried his face in his palms. I thought he was going to break down, but nothing happened. Now, I was worried and very confused.

“Go to your room. I will meet you in a minute,” Adrian said, facing me.

I hesitated as I looked at Tristan, who still had his face buried between his palms.

“Please go. I will come up later,” Adrian said, forcing a smile.

“Fine.” I frowned. I glanced at Tristan before leaving.

I stayed in my room for what seemed like an hour before Adrian showed up. He looked relieved as he walked to the bed. To be honest, I didn’t want to leave. They were still strangers to me. I couldn’t just move in with Adrian when I had only known him for two week.

He lay down next to me on the bed, and we both stared at the white ceiling. I was itching to move closer to him, to touch his hands and feel the warmth from his body.

“Am I still going with you?” I asked, turning to look at him.

“No, Tristan needs you here. You can come over some other time,” he said, facing me.

He didn’t look twenty-six. He was beautiful in every aspect. I found myself moving my hand and brushing the hair covering his right eye.

He smiled. Those damn dimples were going to be the death of me.
