He stops. His jaw ripples.

“I’m not going to let you touch me, Kayne, not until you talk to me. What do you mean, not yet? What are you waiting for, Kayne?”

I’m naked, bruised, weak, dripping onto the carpet, my body glistening with perspiration.

I’m panting for dear life. He made me come so many times my mind is nothing but a vessel controlled by him. I’m trembling violently but I try to stand up straight, like the queen I am.

“What do you mean?” He doesn’t say anything. He just turns around.

“Red.”

He turns around slowly. His eyebrows dip in a deep frown.

“It’s my safe word. You told me to use it when I want you to stop what you’re doing to me. You’re hurting me, Kayne. My heart. My soul. You told me to use my safe word when you’re hurting me and I can’t handle it. So red. Please stop this. Talk to me. Why not now? What are you waiting for?”

He grinds his teeth. For a second it feels as if he’s going to charge at me, take me in his arms, enter my body and come inside me.And close this gulf between us forever.

But he doesn’t.

He steps out of our bedroom. He does the one thing he said he would never do. He leaves me.

Chapter Ten

Kayne

Not yet.

The words ring in my head over and over. Not fucking yet.

I haven’t yet earned the pleasure of taking her body and then coming inside her. I don’t deserve that ultimate bliss that she gives me when her sweet tight pussy sucks up everything I empty inside her.

Not yet.

But soon. In time. When I think I’m worthy of her again.

I stepped away from her tonight because I didn’t think I would be able to stop myself. Seeing her come that way. So fucking stunning, I lost my mind for her.

I wouldn’t have had time to prepare myself to stop.

Not yet. But soon. I just need a little longer.

I head toward the elevator to the private west wing.

“Langley,” Igor stops me in the hallway. I turn and face one of the few men I trust to protect her when I’m not around. I also told him I would fucking kill him if he started calling me Mr. Langley which is how everyone else addresses me now. I didn’t want the title of King of Strohamden. I’m here for Sophia as a man, as her protector and her husband and that’s all.

“What are you still doing here?”

“Just wanted to make sure Her Highness is all right.”

Igor understands a little of what I’m dealing with, but not everything. I drop my head. My pants are still a little damp from her wetness. I can smell her on my fingers. I should be with her right now.

But not yet.

I don’t respond to his question.

“She loves you, Kayne. You don’t know what happened in her office but Lindberg wanted a public apology from you before our countries could resume relations. If you know Lindbergh, you know he’s from old money and has the prime minister in his pocket.”

He isn’t telling me anything I don’t know.
