Page 34 of His Stolen Bride

She took a shower, keeping her mind only on her next step and nothing more.

She chose what she thought was the cheapest pair of underwear and a plain white summer dress with a pair of sandals. She’d pay him back the cost of the clothes when she was home.

She put her hair into a ponytail, then glanced around the apartment once more. So much had happened to her here. She lost her virginity. Everywhere she had been a virgin. Her mouth, her ass, and her pussy.

She lost her heart here too. Stupidly.

Straightening her shoulders, strengthening her resolve she walked toward the door. She had no doubt she would be able to walk out. She didn’t need Owen to be there guarding her. She was a nobody now. Elliot had zero use for her. She was surprised he had kept her in his bed for that long.

She took one more step before the door opened and Elliot walked in.

She closed her eyes and breathed in deeply.

They said nothing to each other. Their gazes just remained locked.

“Owen will drive you to my jet and you can decide where in the world you want to live. You’ll have limitless funds at your disposal. Around-the-clock protection. But just know Vivian, I’ll be watching you. And I’ll still kill any man that so much as smiles back at you. Do you understand?”

“No. I don’t. Why are you doing this?”

“Because I said I would when this is over.”

“You said that when you thought I was someone else. You don’t owe me anything, Elliot. I don’t need your private jet, your protection, your money. I’m not going to be your wife anymore.”

“What makes you think that?”

“That I’m not going to be your wife? For all I know I’m already divorced from you. You mafia men have everyone on your payroll.”

“You’re my wife. You’ll remain my wife until the day you die.”

“What?”

“You heard me, Vivian.”

“You can’t be married to me and marry my cousin.”

“Why the fuck would I be marrying your cousin?”

Vivian frowned. Was there something wrong with him?

“What about Ariti?” She made sure she didn’t use his first name.

“He’s as good as dead already. I just need to clear my schedule to handle it. The Russians won’t be bothering you either. The Antonelli treasure will go to your cousin.”

“I don’t…”

“Anna and Matteo are in the car outside. They’ll be going with you.”

Her mouth fell open.

“They’re here?”

Elliot didn’t bother confirming. Without thinking, Vivian raced out the door, down the elevator and stepped outside of the building.

She couldn’t believe her eyes when she found Anna and Uncle Matteo in a car while Owen stood outside.

When they saw her, they rushed out and hugged her until she couldn’t breathe.

They were safe.
