“Absolutely. I do enjoy the caring aspect of those, but it’s not a requirement for me.” Tanner blows out a heavy breath. “Okay, one last question. Sexual intimacy of any kind while you are in little space?”

Tanner sucks in a gasp, his eyes widening, but not with fear. “I-I, um…” His cheeks color a concerning shade of pink.

“Is that a yes?” He looks at his bat, hiding his eyes from me as he nods. “There’s nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about, Tanner. Knowing your limits is a good thing.”

“I’m not ashamed. It just seems quick. I don’t even know you.”

“I never said it would be on the table,” I say quickly. “I only need to know where your boundaries are.”

“Oh.”

“We only have a few hours together, Tanner.”

“Yeah, that’s for the best. I don’t have time for anything more than tonight anyway.” The boy is fairly insistent he doesn’t have time for a Daddy. He’s mentioned it a few times. I disagree. The boy needs a Daddy more than anyone I’ve ever met.

Struggling to meet the basic human need of sleep every day? Wandering a kink club half-asleep? Unable to verbalize his needs because it’s been too long for him to indulge? Yeah, he needs me.

Not me. A Daddy.

I’m only here for a few hours.

He looks back at me, blinking rapidly. “What about you?”

“My role as a Daddy is to make sure my boy gets what he needs from his submission. The greatest joy I find as a Daddy is knowing my boy is safe, protected, and cared for. My pleasure comes from knowing I’m providing for my boy inallthe ways he needs me. Other than my hard limits, I am comfortable and happiest knowing my boy is handing over control so he can let go.”

“What are your limits?” he asks.

“Similar to yours, but I also have heavy-impact play on my list.” I watch his expression, looking for any response indicating his expectations would fall outside what I can offer him.

Tanner’s eyes well up. “Are you sure you’re real? This isn’t some dream?”

“This is real, I promise.” I stand and hold out my hand. “I think we line up pretty well. If you’ll have me, I would be proud to be your Daddy for the night.”

A few hours of getting this boy some peace and relaxation is better than nothing. He needs a Daddy, even if he denies it. I don’t know Tanner well, but if he agrees, I’ll do my damnedest to give him a night he desperately needs.

He takes my hand. “Yes, please…Daddy.”

SIX

This feels surreal, and I’m not convinced I’m not dreaming. Still, if Daddy Dean is willing to give me time to let go and regress, I won’t stop him.

“One last thing before we begin,” Dean says. “How can I help you get into your little space?”

I blink, answering before I can let my brain get in the way. “Take over. I don’t want to think. I’m already in my clothes, and I have Luna. I simply need to follow Daddy’s instructions, and my head will get there.”

“You got it. Here’s the plan, sweetheart,” Daddy Dean says. “From here on, your safewords are in place. Most of the private rooms are booked for the adoption, and I think it’s best we leave the others available for members who aren’t participating in the event. We’re going to head into the playroom. Once inside, we will get you settled with some toys and a snack.”

I nearly vibrate right out of my skin. “That sounds wonderful.”

“Grab Luna. Let’s go have some fun.”

Tucking Luna into the crease of my arm, I pick up my adoption certificate and grab Daddy’s hand with my free one. Daddy guides us to the door, pausing to thank Arty for monitoring our introduction before leading us into the dim hallway.

We squeeze past a few people lingering against the walls, walking until we reach the open doorway to the playroom. Happy shouts and laughter filter out from inside. The bright light beckons us closer until Daddy pulls me through the door, not stopping until we’re in the center of the fairy garden.

I forget how spectacular this place is. The fairy garden, a playroom designed for the littles of The Garden, is painted in pale colors. Lifelike trees and vines surround the space, and the whole area is lit by twinkling fairy lights.

Despite the exhaustion seeping into my bones, this room feels like a quick recharge. A jolt of energy floods my system as I look around, quickly darting my gaze over the littles spread out in various stages of play. My eyes snag on the comfy beanbag chairs in one corner, but I don’t linger for long.
