His chest rumbled as he laughed. “Should I go check on them? What if they decide to dye all our clothes pink or something?”

I pulled back to look into his eyes. “They’re working together. Niall is here and not sulking. We’re safe. I don’t know what to do in this situation.”

“This is how it should always be.” He kissed my forehead. “Relax and enjoy.”

Relax? Enjoy? I wasn’t sure how to do that anymore. Constant stress, confusion, and frustration had ruled my life since the day Masie showed up and told me who I really was.

I wanted to hold on to this moment. I wanted it to be real. I wanted it to last.

But my heart and mind screamed it wouldn’t. That I had to prepare for what was coming next because there was always something else.

“Come on.” Kaden tugged me over to the bed and held the blankets up so I could climb in. I scooted to the middle, and he lay next to me. “Roll over.”

I thought he wanted more room, so I scooted over. He stopped me. “No, lay on your stomach.”

I hesitated before listening. His hand moved down my lower back, drifting over my butt until he found the bottom of the shirt and tugged it up.

“What—”

The question I had died on my lips. His fingers moved over my skin, and I fell quiet. He tickled and traced shapes, gently massaging my back until the impossible happened. I relaxed.

I turned my head. “Thank you.”

He smiled and kissed me briefly before pulling back. “Go to sleep.”

I wasn’t sure I’d be able to until the rest of the guys were in bed, but I closed my eyes and enjoyed the feeling. He drew again with one figure, and I giggled when he did a smiley face and then a heart. He kissed my shoulder as I nuzzled deeper into the pillow.

I tried to keep track of the next one, but my mind drifted. Sleep took over, stealing my focus just as I made out the words.

Chapter 3

Anote slid under our door in the morning let us know we were expected to return to the conference room upstairs for another meeting with the Alpha. Nancy was waiting when we arrived and flashed a quick smile before ushering us inside.

“They’ll be here in a moment.”

She left, shutting the door behind her.

I examined the room since there hadn’t been time last night. The walls were a warm tan with dark wood wainscoting that came to about waist height. An enormous wooden table was a similar color. The wall behind us was almost entirely glass, revealing a stunning view of the snowy world below.

“They’re coming,” Sai whispered right before the door swung open.

Four men entered, and the family resemblance was strong enough for me to know we were related. They were around the same age as my father could have been. Were they my uncles? The remaining sons?

There was only a couple of inches difference in their heights, and their hair varied from deep chestnut to medium brown. They had similar strong jaw lines and straight noses that reminded me of my own.

The biggest difference was their varying degrees of frowns. None of them appeared pleased to be here. They ignored us, staring at their father and waiting.

“Are you going to explain why you took our phones and computers away?” The one I guessed was the oldest asked him.

Alpha Stewart waved his hand toward us. “Our guests require the utmost security and secrecy, Tom.”

The men flickered their eyes in our direction.

The one in the middle, with the darkest hair and a bit of stubble, furrowed his brows, staring me down until he stepped back. His hand flew over his mouth. “No.”

The brothers turned to face him.
