“Of course, what did you want to get?”

“Maybe pancakes?”

“Pancakes? Again?” Apparently IHOP delivers which is something we learned two weeks into our adventure of not leaving the house. Neither one of us wanted (or could) go out especially when there is a freak snowstorm in middle of March. I can't tell you how many pancakes I've consumed in the last few weeks. But I don't care. They are delicious.

“When you’re carrying a baby for nine months you can complain about eating pancakes all the time.” I give him a look.

“Okay, pancakes it is.” He chuckles. “Anything else?”

“Nope.”

Cody calls it in on the way home. We manage to get there at the perfect timing and intercept the delivery before they have to go inside. Cody carries it up while we take the elevator, I am in no shape to be running up the stairs anymore.

We sit on the couch, eating out of the containers and stuffing our faces. He puts on a movie and I lay down on one side of the couch, stretching my legs to lay on his lap. Not before long, I’m fast asleep. That is until I feel someone moving my feet.

“Shit, sorry I have to pee.” Cody’s standing above me trying to casually move my feet without waking me.

“It’s okay,” I sit up and stretch while Cody heads to the bathroom.

He comes back and puts on another movie. I glance at him when I can suddenly feel his eyes on me. “What?” I ask, wiping my face self consciously. Did I drool in my sleep or something?

“You’re beautiful,” he says with a soft half smile.

“Thank you.” I blush.

“You’re welcome.” He says but his eyes lock with mine. We’d been having little moments like this. Where the tension is heavy and begging one of us to make a move. It reminds me of how we were before we started dating the first time. Always playing with fire, too afraid to actually touch it.

“Cody, I—“

He shuts me up with a kiss. God, how I missed his lips. They melt into mine like butter on a hot pan. I climb onto his lap, my belly only a little in the way. He starts touching me, his hands running down my bare shoulders raising goosebumps. I grind my hips against his, feeling his member grow. A million thoughts were running through my mind about how this probably wasn’t a good idea but I didn’t care. All I wanted was to get railed, by the father of my child.

“Is this okay?” he asks, reading my mind.

“I want this,” I whisper back.

He kisses me again, tugging my hair gently. I throw off the t-shirt I was wearing and he groans at the sight of my enlarged breasts. They are definitely a few sizes more than they used to be. He kisses from my neck, down my breasts until he pauses, stopping to kiss my stomach. It’s one of those things you only see in movies. It’s only for a second and then he’s back to slipping a hand between us to feel how wet I am.

“Fuck, you’re soaked.” He groans, licking his fingers clean. I whimper, grinding against his leg again. I am dying for more.

“Fuck me, please.” I moan.

He nods, throwing off his clothes. I think he’s about to do me on the couch but instead he stands up, pushing me back lightly on the couch. And tries to lift me. I laugh and push him off me.

“You just had a broken foot! Don’t kill us, I can walk.” I laugh. He nods, both of us stripping on the way to the bedroom.

“I’ve been waiting for you,” he growls, climbing on top of me on the bed. I fall back into the satin sheets, inhaling his musky scent.

He pushes my hair out of my face and holds my cheek. He gazes into my eyes and smiles, dipping down to kiss me slowly. Taking the time to bite my bottom lip.

Chapter Twenty-Nine

Cody holds my hand in bed as we both lay breathless in my sheets. The sex was as good as I remembered it. Possibly better than before. He’s warm, pulling his arms around me so I can lay in his chest. My head lays on his heart, feeling the beats like a rhythm to a drum. I close my eyes as he begins to stroke my hair and let myself drift back to sleep. So when I wake up to Cody panicking what feels like a few hours later, I’m startled.

“What happened?” I glance at Cody who’s standing over me shaking me awake.

“Babe, it’s okay but did you pee the bed?” He asks and a horrified look comes over me. I jump out of the bed and look at the wet spot on the sheets.

“I don’t think I did,” I feel between my legs worrying that something is wrong with the baby.
