Not caring. No worrying. Not trying to stop herself.

Not any longer anyway.

Because she wasfeeling.

Feeling so much that she was bursting.

“What’s the plan, anyway?” he asked, stepping back as she strode into his house, moving down the hall and into his kitchen.

She needed a flat surface and plenty of space to spread out—

Which sounded…

Not the best.

Okay, well, it sounded really good actually. Her and Jeremy and a flat surface with plenty of space to spread out. If the man fucked as well as he kissed…

A breath.

Not here for that.

He’d asked for help, and she was going to come through, and if she got a few orgasms along the way…

She’d just consider that a bonus.

Grinning, she pulled out her laptop and folders. Organized them according to her checklist.

Lists. Folders. Papers.

Being organized and prepared and making sure everything was where it should be, that everyone had what they needed.

Her superpower.

Jer was unpacking the food, and she knew there was a perk to dating an alpha-hole (not a fair descriptor, she knew now). But the point was that he paid attention; he knew her. Which meant that he knew exactly which of the Chinese food dishes and how much to put on her plate. He knew that she wanted a beer to go along with it.

He knew that she wanted chopsticks for all the food, but a spoon for the fried rice so she could scrape every last bite.

Slipping down that slope even further.

“Here you go, baby,” he murmured, kissing the top of her head as he slid the plate next to her and put her beer on a coaster.

“Thanks.”

A brush of his knuckles along her throat.

“Anytime.” And then he was sitting across from her, his own plate in front of him, his own beer on his coaster.

She felt a bolt of guilt from not knowing what his choices would be.

From not paying attention when he clearly had.

From being too scared of feeling anything to try.

So, she did the only thing she could.

She took note of those choices now, filed them away. He had her organized and prepared mind at a disadvantage, knowing what she liked, probably knowing everything about her from her favorite color to her favorite cocktail.

She couldn’t let that stand.
