“I try to be.” I snaked my hand under her and found her bare. And wet.

“These pregnancy hormones are a bitch. They make me a crazy bitch some days. Others, I’m a horny bitch.” She quickly unfastened my jeans. “How do you put up with me?”

“Are you joking? I love you no matter what kind of bitch you are. You’re my better half.” I helped her pull down my pants. Just knowing she was ready for me made my cock turn to steel.

“I’d call that true love.”

“Better believe it.” I dropped a kiss on her lips. “But we gotta hurry. Buff and the others will be here any second.”

“No problem there.” Karma slammed down onto my length and stifled a moan.

My woman took control and rode me like a badass bull rider. She hooked her arm around my neck and smashed her mouth to mine.

“You’re so fucking incredible.” I sat back and enjoyed the show while Karma got herself to orgasm. Usually, I did all the work as I preferred. I was the king, after all.

But when my queen took control, I didn’t try to stop her. There was nothing hotter than being owned by my woman.

Karma bit down on my bottom lip and squeezed the fuck out of my dick as she came.

And came.

And came.

I hardly noticed my release, too enthralled with my wife’s pleasure.

“Oh God, that was incredible.” She rested her forehead on my shoulder, panting. “I needed you badly.”

“I’m here anytime you need me, gorgeous.”

“Promise me something, Abe.”

“Anything.” Her words gave me pause. Minutes ago, she didn’t want me making promises to Nova, but now she’s asking for one of her own? I held onto her, preparing myself for what she would say.

“Let’s always be who we are right now, even when we get old.”

“What do you mean? Like having quickies in my office?” I could promise loads of sex into our golden years.

“Sort of.” She pulled back and placed her hand on my cheek. “I mean being passionate and devoted so nothing and no one ever comes between us. I want us to be like Lady M and Ben. They’re the perfect example of how to have a loving, passionate marriage. They’re loyal to each other, and their family comes first.”

“Okay, I promise nothing, and no one will ever come between us. I plan to knock you up a couple more times, so that pretty much guarantees passion and sex.” I gave her a slow wink.

“Perfect.” She giggled, sounding a lot like Nova. “I’m going to clean up before anyone discovers what we were doing here.”

“Okay, baby. Anytime you need a fix, I’m your man.”

“Same goes for you. If you need a release, I’m your woman.” She gave me a big, wet kiss and sashayed out of the room.

I didn’t have the heart to tell her my parent’s marriage wasn’t perfect. They fought and argued like most couples. There’d been a spell where Lady M left for the night back when I was a freshman in high school. She had told us how she needed some time to reboot. Being the oldest, I had suspected it had to do with more than a reboot. Like, what the fuck did that mean?

Momma usually left after a fight, though she probably didn’t know I’d heard them. While she was gone, Dad was a grumpy S.O.B constantly bitching and complaining about how we needed to do more around the house. He’d only been blowing off steam, though. Lady M never needed help and still didn’t well into her fifties. She managed the household with the finesse and ease of an HGTV show, only without the backstage crew. My mother cooked, baked, gardened, and kept an immaculate and organized home. She should have her own television show.

But as Lady M taught us, nobody was perfect, and life often threw us curve balls. If we weren’t prepared, it would knock us on our asses. I experienced that devastating truth when I lost Karma.

Many years ago, life had shaken the foundation of my parent’s marriage when I was little or before I was born. I had no idea when things went south. My siblings likely noticed, too. Or not. I never bothered to mention it or had the balls to ask my folks about all those fights and Lady M’s nights in a hotel.

Things seemed to calm around the time Piper was in high school. Only recently had that unnerving tension of the past returned. I sensed discord between my folks again. It fucking scared the shit out of me.

Even as a grown man, I preferred to not know about the skeletons in their marital closet. Or the possible damage they may cause. Dad and Lady M genuinely loved each other. That was easy to see. Why dig up the past when it was better to leave it there?
