“It’s best if we discuss it with Reign. Pack a bag for Bill and you to bring with us. But hurry, we need to get Granny too.”

“My mother? Why?”

I groaned. “You said you trust me. Just do as I say. We don’t have a lot of time.”

She twisted her lips the same way Reign did. Jesus, my heart hurt over how I left my woman.

“Okay, fine. I don’t understand, but I do trust you.” She put her hand on her forehead, thinking. “Wait here. I’ll pack a bag and call my mother to tell her we’re coming.”

“Don’t call her. Her phone might be bugged.”

Alondra’s eyes went wide. “Oh my God. What has Reign gotten into?”

“Go pack. Hurry,” I told her in a stern voice. Like Reign, her mother asked too many questions. I had no patience for it.

Ten minutes later, I pulled my truck in front of Granny’s little house.

“I’ll go in. She won’t like seeing the other men,” Alondra said, hopping out of my vehicle.

I was relieved she seemed to take my urgency seriously. She could’ve been difficult, then I would’ve had to take her by force. Not at all how I wanted.

A tap on my window made me flinch. I rolled it down to talk to Bone.

“Don’t know about you, but I’m getting nervous. This seems too easy.”

“What do you want to do?” I looked around the area. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

“I think you should get the women back to the farm. Easton and I can go after the dad.”

“I don’t think so. Bill doesn’t know you, and he’s a real asshole. He’ll probably call the police.”

“Not if I knock him out first.”

I snorted. “I’d love to see that. Someone needs to knock him down a few pegs. Nothing better than a dirty biker to do the honors.”

“Exactly. So—”

“But I better go. Reign would flip out if you harmed her dad.” Never mind the fact that her dad had gotten into illegal gambling to pay for her college tuition. The hypocrisy reeked of double standards.

Not all bikers were drug dealing, sex trafficking murders. My family and I did a lot of good. We weren’t perfect but we did our best to protect innocent lives and our territory.

I bet when Reign admired her dad for going to great lengths for her.

“I already talked to Cobra. He wants you home.” Bone arched his brow.

The front door opened before I could respond. Alondra had a tote bag flung over her shoulder as she helped Granny walk to my cage.

“You went behind my back calling him.” I got out of my truck. “Don’t appreciate that, brother.”

“I know. But I am the VP.” Bone followed me to the other side and took the bag from Alondra.

“Thank you,” she replied with a grateful smile. “I’ll sit in the back with her. She’s a little rattled. I had to tell her Reign was in danger to get her to come with us.”

“You weren’t lying.”

The blood drained from Alondra’s face. “Take me to my daughter, now.”

“Yes, ma’am. Are you comfortable, Granny? It’s good to see you.”
