Dear God, please help me know what to do. I want to contact Isaac but I don't know if I should. Is it right to contact him?

I skipped some space in case God wanted to respond.

I don't know what to do about Eddie and Isaac. That's the main thing on my mind right now. I know You already know that. I would love to know Your will in all this. It's important since my job is wrapped up in it. Even if You don't answer this note, please help me to know the right answer. Thank You for my life, which is so blessed. Amen.

I wanted to write more, but I had been writing in large handwriting and I ran out of room on the paper. I put the folded piece of paper on my bedside like I did every time I wrote one. I had forgotten how therapeutic it was to write down my prayers. It helped simplify things in my mind. I felt overwhelmed by the book, the story, and the way all of this happened, but the question was simple—should I contact Isaac, and if so, does that mean that I should automatically break up with Eddie? What if things didn't work out with Isaac and me?That was a real possibility.

I opened and read my prayer again just to make sure I worded everything right just in case God chose to respond on the paper.

I didn't sleep well that night. I was up at three and five, but I didn't let myself check the paper because it was still dark out. I woke up again when the sun was out, and opening the paper was the first thing I did.

Nothing. There was no answer. All I saw was my own handwriting. I blinked and scanned the note again just in case, but it was only my own words. I was disappointed. I not only wanted it to have words, I wanted those words to be,go to Seattle and be with the stranger named Isaac.

Chapter 7

I had to work again the following day. It was a busy time of year at the studio since we were in full swing preparing for a winter recital. The same teacher was still under the weather and called in sick again. I found help for one of her classes, but I would have to cover two of them. We were stretched too thin with our teachers, and the next step would be to call in Kathy herself, which I didn't want to do.

I knew I wouldn't get off until 6pm, so I wanted to find time during my day to compose a short email to the restaurant in Seattle. I didn't hear from God on the paper, but I felt compelled to contact Isaac and let him know I read the book. I thought of myself on my hundredth birthday and I knew I would regret not sending something to him in this moment.

I didn't even want to think about what that meant for me and Eddie. I drove to a park on my lunch break and sat in my car while I composed an email.

Subject: Hello, I'm Ari

Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to get in touch with Isaac Alexander through email. Thank you so much for your time,

Ari Moreno

I hit send before I could overthink it.

I had signed my last name, but the email was vague, and I used one of my generic email accounts and not the one from work. I checked my phone every thirty seconds for the rest of my lunch break, but I had chores to do at work, and I put down my phone when I got back.

Being the manager of Studio Revolution Atlanta was an all-consuming job, and I was good at it. I was desperate to check my email, but work came first. It was later that afternoon at home when I had the chance to sit and concentrate on my phone again.

I had a text from Eddie, but I didn't open it.

I went straight to my email.

I had a new email from Isaac Alexander, and my heart leapt in my chest. My stomach felt like I was on a roller coaster. I realized that he had sent me a new email instead of responding to the one I previously sent. It was from a different email address.

Re: Hello back

Hello, this is the correct email address for me, Isaac. I check the customer service address, but this is my private account. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Isaac

Isaac signed off with his name only. The bottom of the email had the telephone number and address of the restaurant along with Isaac's cell phone number. I thought about throwing caution to the wind and texting him, but I sent another email instead.
