I want to say I feel numb, but that’s not it.

I feel everything.

Every little thing happening in my body from that kiss.

It’s honestly almost pathetic.

As though I’m some virgin who just got attention from a guy.

Before I can get my thoughts back to anything that looks like normal, I feel someone bump into my left arm.

I turn and see both Maz and Birdie.

“Did I just see what I thought I…?” Birdie asks.

“Were you just tongue fucking Cullen Doyle?” Maz asks.

“No,” I said.

“Liar,” Birdie says.

“There was no tongue,” I say.

My voice is monotone. And I’m almost whispering for some reason.

“No tongue?” Maz asks. “Damn. Cullen Doyle has style and class, huh? I bet if he was aSavagehis tongue would have started at your lips and ended… at your lips. The ones between your legs.”

“Maz, stop,” Birdie says.

“Do you like Cullen?” I ask.

“Who doesn’t?” Maz asks. “What did he say to you? What did you say to him to get a kiss?”

“Something crazy is going on right now,” I say.

“We can see that,” Birdie says.

“No,” I say. “It’s… there’s a lot. I need to tell you everything going on.”

“Okay,” Birdie says. “Let’s suffer through some classes and then talk.”

“I can’t believe Cullen Doyle kissed you,” Maz says.

She opens her mouth and silently cheers me on as she and Birdie walk up the steps to the building I’m supposed to be going into, too.

I’m not sure there’s much to celebrate.

My life is a giant lie.

But that kiss from Cullen?

That was pretty damn real.

I lick my lips.

I kind of wanted another kiss from him.

“So, who are you?” Maz asks.
