To my past. To my present. And definitely to my future.

“I’m not parked all that far away,” Seth says.

“We can get a golf cart,” I say. “Those are fun.”

I look up at Seth and smile.

His face is cold. Dark. Empty.

Right on cue, someone in a golf cart starts to cruise by us.

I point and the golf cart stops.

“I’ll drive us, Jaci,” Seth says.

“No,” I say. “They…”

Before I can finish my sentence, Seth charges toward the golf cart.

He reaches across the long seat and drags the person driving out of the golf cart and throws him to the ground.

“Seth! No!” I cry out.

The guy on the ground kicks at Seth. “Who the fuck do you think you are?”

Seth drops down to one knee and punches the guy in the face.

The guy’s head snaps back and blood sprays into the air.

I run at Seth as he brings his fist back to hit the guy again.

The bottom line here is that Cullen and Archer are right.

Seth will never be part of a mafia family.

Well, not unless he and I got married, right?

I’m an Heir. If he’s my husband…

I shake away that thought in a hurry.

Right now. Present time.

Seth is just an outlaw.

He knows how to fight. He knows how to survive.

But in this world…

I grab Seth’s right arm and shut my eyes.

I hold on tight.

He tries to punch the guy but he stops…

I open my eyes and he’s looking at me.

“I’ll fucking kill him,” Seth says.
