“Seth!” I growl.
“Oh, this guy is dirty and smooth,” Maz says.
“He took my virginity,” I say. “Okay? That’s what the pop sound was.”
“I popped her cherry,” Seth says to Birdie about me.
Now Birdie starts to blush.
She’s falling for Seth’s bullshit.
I help Maz to her feet.
She pulls me in for a hug.
“What are you doing with this guy?” she whispers to me. “Hug me back tight once for yes, twice for no. Did he kidnap you for real?”
I hug back once.
“Fuck,” Maz whispers. “Did he hurt you?”
I hug her twice.
“Okay,” she whispers. “What is he doing here then?”
“I don’t know,” I whisper back and then I break the hug.
I turn and look at Seth again.
He looks around the room.
“I’m the luckiest man in the world,” he says. “Three sexy girls looking at me.”
“We all want to kill you,” I say.
“Agreed,” Birdie says.
“I want to kill you, bring you back to life, and kill you again,” Maz growls.
“I have a much better idea,” I say with a smile. “Let’s let Cullen and Archer handle this.”
That’s when Birdie gasps and sets her sights on me. “That’s right. You’ve been kidnapped. Duh. You don’t know…”
“Don’t know what?” I ask.
Birdie looks away.
I turn my head toward Maz. “Don’t know what, Maz?”
“Well,” Maz says.
She pauses.
“Well, what?” I ask.
“Jaci, you’re not going to believe what you’re about to hear…”
