After getting home and taking two showers to scrub the cripec gore from my body, I got a call from the S.R.F. My interview was today at noon, so here I was, dressed to impressed with an unwavering smile in place. I knew that as long as they agreed that I would be happy there I would be welcome help other souls transition. But I still felt like I needed to impress them, something surely left over from my days on Earth.

I'd opted for a light blue pants suit with a cream top beneath the jacket, and I'd combed my hair into a neat low bun. I felt great about my appearance and confident because of the vision I'd had, but once I arrived at the facility, my nerves got the best of me.

Finding a soul purpose was something I’d been so excited about, and while there was no pressure like on Earth, I still felt nervous.

However, once I was called in my interviewer, a human woman named Lemencia Kyman, already had my file open. She'd asked me about my life on Earth and my experiences as an Enchanted, and then she asked a series of questions about how I'd handle certain situations at the facility, like a disgruntled and confused new soul.

After thirty minutes, Lemencia stood up and held her hand out over the desk. “Welcome on board, Natalie Blackwood. We’re excited to have you join us.” I stood up and shook her hand.

She was friendly with a bright aura and a warm smile. She had brown eyes and skin and would be my immediate supervisor. I was thrilled.

“I’m sure you’ll make an excellent agent,” she added.

I placed my fist over my heart. "Thank you so much," I told her. "I can’t wait. When can I start?"

"Right away, although you'll need to do a few days of training. You will be interacting with souls who have woken up and are ready to be integrated into our world. So, the entire process you experienced—picking a home, understanding your bracelet, and other daily activities—are what you will teach your clients."

Interesting no one taught me about daily activities in the God Realm when I arrived. I’d had to figure out several things for myself and with help from strangers.

However, I would teach my clients everything I wished I had been taught upon my arrival. The God Realm was a remarkable place, but it could also be overwhelming.

"I can give you a tour of the facility today and introduce you to the other agents, and tomorrow we can begin your training. Would that work for you?”

“That sounds great,” I answered.

She walked around her desk and led me to the door. Then I got my first good look at the place where I’d be spending my days.

The facility was split into two sectors. The lower floors were for the new and rehabilitating souls and their care, and the higher floors were for those who'd already woken up. There were several departments in each sector.

I’d be working with the people in charge of monitoring the souls who'd just woken up to make sure they were okay. After that, agents like me would take over, offering more hands-on instruction to a soul outside of the facility.

But I had plans to do more than just take a soul to their new house.

I would give them the option of figuring things out by themselves or allowing me to guide them. If I was needed, I'd take them to the mall and show them how to shop, correctly use their bracelets, and how to teleport if they couldn’t naturally do so.

In the lower floors of the facility, doctors cared for the souls who only just arrived, cleansing them of their past life and having each soul placed into new bodies, since their old one died on Earth.

I’d never given that a thought before. Why wasn’t I just a floating spirit here? How did I end up with a body very similar to the one I had on Earth? Whatever the reason, I was glad. I was kind of partial to my body.

For the most part, everyone was friendly and welcoming, and I was impressed by how organized everything was. The facility was quiet, which created a tranquil environment.

“Lemencia, I'm sorry to interrupt, but could you look at this report, please? It's urgent."

“It’s okay,” I told Lemencia, who looked upset that our tour wasn't over. “I’ll walk around a bit more and then leave.”

"Okay, wonderful. And again, welcome, Natalie. You can come in at nine tomorrow morning, and we’ll have your schedule ready for you.”

“That sounds great. Thank you.”

She walked away with the fae who’d approached us while speaking in hushed tones, and I turned away. We were on one of the upper floors, and ahead of me, I saw was a small lobby with multiple chairs.

On one of them sat an elderly woman, a new soul all alone, a human, I realized from her scent. Her shoulders were hunched forward as she stared at the ground, and I recognized the profound sadness on her face.

I walked over and sat down beside her. She smiled.

"Hello," I said, and her weak smile widened.
