Her eyes slid to Zeus and then to Cedric. "I've taken back all the chaos you stole from me. The war is over, and you lost. But…I want to thank you. You showed me what it was like for everyone on the other side, back when I wanted to force my ideas on others. I was once you, and that thought disgusts me."

Cedric looked petrified—like a frightened child about to be punished. And he knew it.

I’d decided to free Tedara when I realized she was the only one who could end this war. She was the Mother of Chaos, the Mother of Creation, along with the other primordial gods, and I crossed my fingers that she had been punished long enough for her sins.

Cedric's lips parted as if to speak, but they sealed together until he had no mouth.

“You have nothing to say that I want to hear,” Tedara spat. "You're going to suffer. Believe that you're going to suffer for a very long time. I could send you to the Demon Realm, but that won't be enough. You wanted my power. Now you're going to be trapped in it, forever."

I stepped away when I saw Cedric's skin start to disintegrate. He screamed, but the sound was muffled since he had no mouth and no one moved an inch to help him.

Tedara pulled his body, his bones—everything—into her, and when he was gone, she inhaled deeply and sighed.

Suddenly, the Goddess bowed to Tedara, as did Rumir, Zeus, Lucian, as well as all the gods there. The dragons roared in unison, and she held her hand up.

“I don’t deserve your thanks, or your reverence,” she said, holding her hand out to me. "Natalie is the one who should be thanked, for I've never met a soul quite as determined as this young wolf. You saved everyone, Natalie. You saved me."

"I did what I could," I said.

She smiled, but it was wiped away in the next second.

A man appeared beside the Goddess, and beyond the cave, time stopped. The newcomer had black pupils, wavy black hair, and was dressed in a tuxedo. He was as tall as Tedara had been at first, standing high above the Goddess, and she stepped back and bowed, as did Zeus and Heldon. Lucian, Rumir, and I exchanged confused looks, and Tedara took a step forward.

"Time," she grumbled, and the man buried his hands in his pockets.

"Hello, sister," he said. “Looks like I’m a little too late to the party.”
