"What was that about a hot waitress?"

Dammit, I jinxed myself, didn't I? Of course, I looked up to find Rosie coming down with Joaquin, Rowan, Sabina, Roxanne, and the others. Figured they would show up in the middle of my humiliation. Maybe I could ask Roxanne to use her magic and make the ground swallow me whole.

I wave to Rosie, pleading with my eyes for her not to think the worst. "Rosie, baby, it's not what it sounds like, I swear."

One of the betas, Thomas, took that time to sling an arm over my shoulder. "Don't worry, Alpha Rosie, we were just reminiscing on the good old days with Kao on how he loved chasing after pretty girls during training. Among other things."

"Shut uuuup," I snarled through gritted teeth, but all the fucker did was laugh at me.

"Really?" Rosie quirked an eyebrow in amusement. "Think you can tell me more?"

"No!" I shouted.

"Sure!" Thomas said, beaming with joy. I wanted to deck him.

"As entertaining as this all is, we still have matters to discuss," Del said, killing the mood for everyone. "Rosie, there's something important that we need to talk about."

Rosie's expression dropped, but she held herself high. "All right, everyone who isn't an alpha, or a guest, please go about your business."

"Yes, Alpha," Thomas said, and he and the rest of the betas scattered, leaving our group alone.

Kai slowly joined us from his spot on the patio, looking like a scared kid. I went over to him and pulled him to my side. "You're okay, Kai."

Kai nodded but kept quiet. The same couldn't have been said about Del. "Rosie, tell us again about the monster you keep seeing in your visions."

Rosie's posture stiffened as she stole a quick glance in mine and Kai's direction. I didn't like where this was going, and from the looks of it, neither did Rosie. "I saw a monstrous Lycan who killed everyone here."

"A Lycan with glowing red eyes, right?" Del interrogated.

I narrowed my eyes in suspicion. "Just what are you getting at?"

Without missing a beat, she pointed to Kai. "What I'm getting at, is that Kai may be the evil Lycan in your visions."

"That's ridiculous," I snapped while Kai backed away in horror. "My brother is not the monster from Rosie's visions."

"No, not him exactly, but rather his Berserker Wolf. You can't deny that it's too much of a coincidence that a Lycan with the Wolf Moon's gift and glowing red eyes appeared twice in Rosie's vision, and it's too similar to Kai's situation since he bares the gift, and his eyes glow red when he's in full berserker form."

I wanted to shout with how pissed off I was. How could Del insinuate my brother was the monster from Rosie's visions? Even as a berserker, I didn't think Kai would be strong enough to kill everybody. Not that he would. Kai would rather chew his arms off than harm others. Looking at my brother, a distraught look was painted on his fair features. If I hadn't had an arm around him, I was certain he would've bolted.

"That's a big accusation you're throwing around," Javier stated, thankful he was sticking up for Kai. Rosie, on the other hand, was quiet as she listened.

"But it's one to think about," Roxanne piped in, pulling out her cigarettes and lighting one.

Oh great, her too? Regarding me with a knowing stare, she amended.

"I'm not saying he's a bad guy. Under normal circumstances, I know he would never attack us. But it's the berserker rage I'm worried about. You've all seen it firsthand, that Kai can't control it. Right now, he's banking on the hope that he'll have better control over it with the help of the Wolf Moon's immunity. But if it doesn't work, then he'll be super charged with both powers. I don't think any of us here would be able to stop him then."

"Would everyone stop talking about my brother like he isn't here? Damn!" I shouted in frustration, gesturing to Kai who was next to me while everyone was talking about him.

Byron raised up his hand in a gesture for me to calm down. "He's right. Kai, what do you think?"

All eyes went to him, which had Kai shrinking closer to me. "Um... I think Roxanne and Del are right. If I can't control it, then there's a chance that my wolf will be the reason everyone dies."

"Kai," I gaped at him, wondering why he was agreeing with them.

Kai shook his head at me. "No, it's okay, P'Kao." He wriggled free from my hold and stepped forward. "I know that my wolf could pose as a threat if I can't control it. I don't want to risk harming anyone here. So... maybe I should be locked up in one of the basement cellars."

"No," I protested, grabbing his arm and jerking him back. "Are you crazy? We're not going to lock you up!"
