“I’d give you mine if I had one.”

“It’s okay. We’ll be inside soon.”

I’m surprised when he slips his arm around my waist and tugs me against him. I look up at him with wide eyes. “I’m just keeping you warm,” he says, holding my gaze.

“Thank you,” I tell him quietly.

A few minutes later, his arm slips from around me as Nash gives over his name to the guy at the door and we’re shown into the club. It’s dark and loud inside, with people drinking and dancing.

“It’s up here,” Nash shouts over his shoulder, pointing to a staircase in front of him. He takes hold of Paisley’s hand and guides her up the stairs.

“Have you met the players before?” I ask Seb as we walk side by side up the stairs.

“A couple of times. I don’t get to as many games as I’d like.”

When we reach the top of the stairs, there’s a security guy blocking the way.

“We’re with Wyatt Brookes,” Nash shouts over the noise of the music.

“Name?”

“Nash and Seb Brookes,” he says, gesturing over his shoulder to Seb.

He gives a swift nod of his head and steps to one side to allow us to pass. Wyatt must have told him we were coming. As we walk into the crowd, everyone seems to be congregating around one of the booth tables.

“Hey! You made it!” Wyatt says as he sees us and stands from the booth, moving a woman who is sitting in his lap. There are around eight guys with him, most of them with a woman draped over them. I don’t recognize any of the guys he’s with, but that’s no surprise. I had no idea who Wyatt was when I first met him. He pulls Nash in for a hug and kisses Paisley on the cheek before turning to Seb.

“What did you think of the game?” he asks, hugging him.

“It was great, and I think we might have a new football fan in Taylor.”

He turns to me and grins. “You liked the game?”

“I loved it! Well done on the win. When can I come again?”

He laughs and presses a kiss on my cheek. “Anytime you want, sweetheart. Let me know when you’re free and I can hook you up with a ticket. You can stay at my place.”

“Let’s get a drink,” Seb says from the side of me, slipping his hand in mine and tugging me away from Wyatt before I can reply.

“What are you doing?” I ask, pulling back on his hand.

He looks over his shoulder. “Getting a drink.”

“But we were talking to Wyatt.”

I look behind me to see Wyatt watching us, a grin on his face.

“And now we’re getting a drink.”

When we reach the bar, he drops my hand, gently maneuvering me so that I’m standing in front of him, my back to his chest. His large, inked arms rest on the bar either side of me, caging me in. He’s not actually touching me, but it feels intimate somehow, and my pathetic, needy brain wonders if he got jealous when I was talking to Wyatt.

“What do you want to drink?” he asks, dropping his mouth to my ear. His breath is hot on my skin, and I close my eyes, dragging in a shaky breath.

“Red wine, please,” I mutter.

“Should I get Paisley the same?”

I nod. He gives over the order to the guy behind the bar, who asks where we’re sitting. Seb points to Wyatt’s table.
