“I’ll bring them over,” he tells Seb.

“We’ll wait.”

Taking a deep breath, I turn around, tilting my head back to look at him.

“Is everything okay?”

“Yes. Why wouldn’t it be?”

“You just seem a little… pissed at me.”

His face softens. “I’m not pissed at you, Taylor.”

I raise my eyebrows. “But you are pissed?”

He drags his hand through his hair and shakes his head. “No. I’m not.” He reaches past me and picks up my drink.

“Thanks,” I tell him, taking it from him.

“Can you carry Paisley’s drink and I’ll get the beers?”

“Sure.”

He steps away from me, and it’s only now that I feel like I can catch my breath. We walk side by side as we head back to the table, and when everyone has a drink in their hand, Wyatt asks us to join him and his teammates in the booth. I sit down first, scooting around the table. Paisley sits next to me, with Nash and Seb on the end.

“Who are all the girls?” I whisper to Paisley before taking a sip of my wine.

“I think some of them are the cheerleaders and others are groupies who follow the team around. They seem pretty desperate to me,” she whispers back.

I glance around the table, my heart pounding in my chest as I see one of the girls eyeing up Seb. She’s wearing a tiny cheerleader outfit that looks like it’s been painted on. She moves from the other side of the table, and without even speaking to him, sits down on his knee.

“You must be Wyatt’s brother,” she gushes, dragging her hot-pink nail up and down his arm. “I’ve heard a lot about you.” I try not to watch, but I can’t take my eyes off them.

“Seb, this is Kristie. She’s head cheerleader for the team. Kristie, this is Seb,” Wyatt says.

“Nice to meet you, Kristie.”

“I’ve always had this fantasy about being with twins. Do you think you and Wyatt might be up for fulfilling that fantasy?”

She bites her bottom lip and pushes her chest into his face. My stomach rolls, and I want to drag her off his lap and scratch her eyes out. It’s irrational when we’re not together and never will be, but I can’t help how I feel.

“Fucking hell!” Paisley whispers into my ear. “Did you hear what she just said?”

“Yeah.” I pick up my drink and swallow down a large mouthful. If I’ve got to sit and watch some half-naked woman flirt with Seb all night, I’m going to need more wine.

“Some of the women who follow the team around are a little over the top,” the guy sitting next to me says. “Kristie more so than most.”

“A little over the top is a bit of an understatement,” Paisley says from the side of me.

He chuckles. “I’m Lewis.”

“I’m Taylor, and this is Paisley,” I tell him.

“How do you know Wyatt?”

“Paisley’s dating his brother.”

His eyes widen. “Not his twin brother, I’m guessing.”
