"What do they do again? They read with kids or something?"

"Yeah. They set up professionals to take an hour of their lunchtime to go read with kids who aren't reading at grade level. It's really helpful, especially for the ESL kids."

"Oh, that's pretty cool. Now I feel bad. Now I feel like I should try to donate something."

"Despite going or donating," she said.

"Not really, Rosalie."

"I know, but I don't want to make you feel bad," she said, giggling. "So what are you doing? You sound like you're out of breath."

"Right now, I'm walking along Fifth Avenue, and I'm looking for a coffee shop that Molly told me to meet her at."

"Oh, Molly?"

"We met at that bar, and she was also at the speed dating event."

"The cute blonde?"

"Yeah. She's the one. She asked if I wanted to meet for coffee, and I said yes because I really don't have anything else going on."

"Aw, girl. And how's the job search going?"

"It's going. I figured maybe Molly has some good tips because she's looking too."

"Ah, yeah, maybe. Just don't become a dancer."

"Why? What have you heard?" I asked quickly.

"Huh?" Rosalie sounded confused. "What are you talking about? Heard about what?"

"Oh, nothing." I started laughing. "I just thought that maybe Foster told you about the other night. When I pretended to be Fred Astaire and was tap dancing across the living room?"

"You don't know how to tap dance."

"I mean, I know I don't know how to tap dance. That's why I was nervous. He said something because I made a fool of myself, and I kind of fell in his lap and tripped, and..."

"You fell in Foster's lap?" Rosalie laughed. "What did he say?"

"Not much, but oh, I think I see the coffee shop. I'll talk to you later?"

"Okay. Call me when you're done. Let me hear how it goes."

"Will do. Bye!"

I hung up quickly and took a deep breath. I loved Rosalie. She was my best friend, and she was like my sister, but there was no way in hell I was going to tell her that I gave her brother a topless lap dance and fell asleep in his lap. She would absolutely kill me. And I would just relive the mortification all over again.

I'd barely seen Foster since it had happened. I'd been doing my best to avoid him because I just didn't know what to say or do. I mean, how did you recover from a topless lap dance? How did you recover from brushing your breasts across someone's lips? I didn't know. And every night when I went to bed and thought about it, I wanted to curl up and die in shame. I looked up and took a deep sigh of relief because I realized I had finally arrived at the coffee shop.

I walked inside and looked around and saw Molly sitting in a corner booth. She looked up and saw me and gave me a wide smile.

"Over here, Alice," she said. I walked over to her and slid into the booth.

"Hey, so good to see you."

"You too," Molly said. She grinned at me. She had really beautiful green eyes that made her look super exotic. Her hair was curly and blond today, whereas it had been straight when I first met her the other day.

"You look really nice today," I said, staring at her hair. She laughed and touched her curls.
