“That’s Pascal,” she mouthed, and I frowned.

“Who?”

“Pascal from that TV show.”

I tried to think for a moment, and then I remembered who she was. She was a famous actress. She used to be a Victoria’s Secret model. Of course Travis would know her.

“Oh darling, how long are you going to be in San Francisco? You didn’t even tell me that you were here.”

I heard the hint of a British accent in her voice. “I’m just here for business, Pascal, but it’s so good to see you.”

“Oh, can’t you stay longer? I’m going to a party this weekend and…”

“I’ll be in LA at a different party. Actually, at Moe’s party.”

“Moe? Oh, Moe Rogers?” she asked, laughing.

I had no idea who Moe Rogers was. Poppy asked me who Moe Rogers was, and I shook my head. I looked at Travis and couldn’t believe he hadn’t introduced me yet. I was practically spitting daggers out of my eyes.

“You should come,” Travis said, and my jaw dropped.

No way did he invite a Victoria’s Secret model to the party that I was going to be attending with him and my best friend. What was he? Some sort of player.

“Oh, maybe I will,” she said, smiling. “I’ll have to see if I can get a plane.”

“Well, if you’re free in a couple of days, you can join us.” He suddenly seemed to remember Poppy and me. “This is my assistant, Molly, and her best friend, Poppy. They’ll be on the plane as well.”

Finally, the statuesque model’s eyes looked at me and then at Poppy. She glanced at me for a couple of seconds and then studied Poppy.

“Are you a model?” she asked, her eyes narrowed slightly.

I knew why she was asking. Everyone assumed Poppy was a model because she was so tall and beautiful.

“No, I was a history major and…”

Pascal was not interested in that. “So, darling,” she continued, pressing her fingers into Travis’s upper arm. “What are you doing right now? Do you want to go for drinks so we can catch up?”

“I would, but my assistant and I have some work to do.”

I was going to kill him if he called me his assistant one more time.

“Oh.” She looked over at Poppy. “You’re his assistant, darling?”

“No, not me,” Poppy said with a wide smile. “I’m a history geek. My best friend, Molly, over there, she’s the assistant.”

Pascal’s eyes settled on me and blinked a couple of times. “Oh.” She looked over at Travis. “Your standards have dropped, haven’t they?”

I looked over at Poppy, and Poppy’s eyes widened. I could not believe this bitch. I was about to take her down.

“I’m not sure what you mean,” Travis said smoothly, “but I must be seeing these two ladies home. It was great seeing you, Pascal. If you would like to catch the flight with us, just text me. I think you have my number.”

“I do, but the last time I text you, you didn’t answer, darling.”

“Well, it was late at night,” he said, chuckling.

“Yes, but you never used to have a problem answering my text late at night.” She looked at me, and then she looked up at Poppy, a self-satisfied smile on her face, and she giggled. “So darling, I have something I want to show you,” she said, leaning forward and whispering into Travis’s ear.

He chuckled slightly and then looked at her lips. “Well, well, Pascal, I see you’re still as naughty as ever.”
