“Your dad?” A whoosh of air escapes her before she answers.
“Yeah, he won’t leave my pack and Cass––.”
“Is next in line to become alpha, I know. Cass also knows he and I can never cohabitate the same area, our wolves won’t allow it. I would never stop you from seeing them, or visiting whenever you wanted, but beauty, you belong with me.” She smiles and that throws me off my game a bit.

“For?”
“Not asking me to leave my family and actually giving me a choice in your weird Cairo way.” I chuckle.
“Baby, I never play fair and you need to learn that fast.”
“Oh, I know you don’t! Now let’s get some sleep and we can work all this out after we get your BFF back.”
“Thank you.”
“Don’t thank me, when it’s the right thing to dobeasty.”I scoff.
“That is a shit pet name beauty.”
“Is not, I’m beauty and you’re the beast.” We both laugh.
“Go to sleep.” I say as I close my eyes ready to get some much-needed rest.
“Okay, I love you.” I smirk.
“I know.” She smacks me against my chest which just causes me to laugh, I cup her face and kiss her before pulling back and saying. “You are everything to me.” Her eyes soften and melts against me.
“That was the bestI love you too.”
Chapter twenty-seven
Belle
Iwakeuptoan empty bed, I’m used to it at this point, with him gone before I even wake. He searches for her from sun up, to sun down every day, I used to feel jealous about it but now I find it so endearing. I will never understand Cairo and Sky’s relationship, but I can respect it. Cairo has confessed his thoughts to me about him and Sky, thinking he was in love with her, but now he knows it wasn’t that kind oflove. I stretch out before climbing out of bed and making my way to the bathroom. I relieve myself and then head for my toiletry bag on the counter so I can brush my teeth, when I lift the lid, I pause at the sight of my box ofTampax.
Did I miss calculate?
I’ve been under a lot of stress.
My visions have changed, so maybe that’s the cause?
My thoughts spiral out of control as I stumble back and drop down onto the edge of the tub and clutch my head between my hands. My breaths are coming in short pants, I need to calm down or I’ll risk setting a vision off. I scrub my hands down face and decide to panic later, without doing a test there is no reason to spiral, I mean there is a number of things why my period could be late. I stand and look at myself in the mirror as I turn side on and try to see if I can see a bump through my singlet.

I scold myself yet again,if,and it is a huge fatif,I am pregnant, I will only be early. Like maybe 5 weeks. I shove all thoughts from my mind and go about my morning routine and head toward the kitchen after changing. I can hear bickering as soon as I round the corner to the massive country style kitchen, around the bench is sheets of papers and maps sprawled out in front of everyone. The only person missing from the group is Cairo, I look around to see if I can spot him.
“He left early this morning.” I face the group again and smile my thanks to Creed.
“Did he say where he was going?” Before he can answer black dots begin to swim in my vision and I start to sway on my feet, shit.
“You want her back, then you do as I say!”
“I’ll never give her up, she’s mine!” I sit up and look around and furrow my brow when I notice I’m in a barn, hay litters the floor and bales of the stuff is stacked along the wall behind me. I climb shakily to my feet and move toward the railing at the edge, I look down and that’s when I see stables below, with horses inside, and right there in the middle is Cairo and a man, I can’t see the man’s face because his back is to me, but I can tell through the thin cotton shirt he wears that he is tense. Cairo is grinding his teeth with his fists clenched at his sides in anger, his hair is a tousled mess, and his navy-blue shirt is crinkled, almost like someone has had it clutched in their hands, have these two been fighting? The man moves so he and Cairo are chest to chest, Cairo growls, his upper lip pulls back in a snarl.
