I continued to clean myself as much as possible. Grabbing more paper towels as I needed, I wiped myself until my skin was somewhat clean. I sighed as I looked at my bloodstained suit. I was drenched in the blood of an innocent person. I wanted to vomit, but I had to remain focused on bigger things right now.

Giacomo opened the bathroom door for me. We stepped back out into the hallway that led to the waiting area. Leaning on the wall just outside the door, I ran my fingers through my hair. He paused, folding his arms.

“While you and the guys were busy securing the building, Isabelle needed help.”

“And where is everyone?” he asked, taking out his phone. “Where is Joseph? He has not answered.”

I shrugged, “I have no idea where they are.”

He sighed, scrolling through his screen, before sliding it back in his pocket.

“Marco and William took off too and I'm the only one here,” I muttered. “Giacomo, I need to see her.”

He nodded as his phone started to vibrate loudly in his pocket. He pulled it out, placing it to his ear.

Yes?

Ok.

Yes, he is here, and Miss Ayala is being examined.

I won't.

Thank you.He hung up promptly, returning his phone to his pocket.

“You won't what?” I narrowed my eyes on his.

He took a deep breath, “Felipe has Tanya.”

I grabbed my head, shouting , “Are you fucking seri--?”

“Shhhh.”

“Are you fucking serious?” I repeated, barely above a whisper.

He nodded, “Joseph went after her and I am guessing that's where Marco and William ran off to.”

Anger rose within me as I felt my blood begin to boil. I marched to the waiting area where I began pacing back and forth. Giacomo remained close by, occasionally texting on his phone while keeping an eye on me.

About one hour and forty-five minutes later, the doors opened again. The same doctor appeared. I did not take my eyes off her as she approached us. I was still anxiously awaiting news that my girlfriend was doing ok.

“Mr. Greco,” she smiled warmly. “she’s asking for you.”

I gasped, “She's awake?”

“Yes,” she nodded. “She didn't particularly like my male nurse touching her, but she is physically okay.”

“I'm ready to see her.”

She peered around me. “Your friend will have to wait out here, though.”

I looked back to Giacomo then to the doctor. “He is my bodyguard,” I conveyed, “and will stand outside the door in the hall but he's coming with me.”

She bowed her head, not putting up a fight. “Very well, this way.”

We followed her through the doors and long hallway. There were whispers at the nurse's station as we passed. I did not glance in their direction as my focus was on Isabelle, but it was obvious they were talking about me.

I laid in a strange, cold place, with a stabbing and burning discomfort radiating throughout my entire body. Blinking my eyes a few times, blurry images formed before me. I tried to make sense of the hospital room I was in. Attempting to lift my arm to my face, I felt cords attached to my finger and the back of both my hands.
