Without turning toward me, she joked, “This is where you push me over isn't it?”

“Who's going to stop me?” I whispered in her ear, teasing her.

She spun to face me, causing my arms to fall to my side.

“Actually, I know someone,” she scoffed, crossing her arms playfully.

I raised my eyebrows, mocking her, “Oh, is that so?”

Nodding with a teasing smirk, she turned back toward the water. She started to trace my watch with her fingertips, inspecting it. I froze for a moment, wondering if she would somehow recognize it.

“What kind of watch is this?” she pondered. “I have never seen anything like it.”

“It's a modified smart watch,” I informed, “I use it sometimes to communicate with my security team.”

Suddenly, her body tensed up as she swallowed hard.

“Are you okay, bella?” I muttered, gently stroking her arms up and down with my fingertips.

"Yeah.”

I twisted her body to face me, searching her eyes for thoughts, or many answers. Her breath was slightly shallow as she gazed directly at me. Her lips parted to speak.

“Sir, dinner is served,” one of my security guards interrupted.

She audibly gasped, covering her lips with one of her palms, but I ignored the gesture. Had she figured me out? I held out my hand offering it to hers.

“Are you ready?”

A slow smile crept on her face as she nodded. I took her hand, placing her body in front of mine while resting my hand gently on the small of her back, guiding her to the table on the deck. I pulled her chair out for her then sat down next to her after she was settled.

Our server placed napkins in our laps as Isabelle continued to stare at me. Starting to sense the wheels spinning in her head, I felt that I better address her. I was curious to know what she was thinking, even if she had this all figured out.

“What's on your mind?”

She glanced down at her lap, letting out a small laugh then peered back at me. “Honestly,” she exhaled, “I don't even know right now.”

“Fair enough.”

Boss, I think she knows, Joseph’s voice rang out in the small earpiece I wore.

I chuckled quietly out of nowhere, rolling my eyes as the server placed salads in front of us.

“Something I should know?” Isabelle queried with a slight grin.

I shook my head, pointing to my ear, smiling, “Just some of the guys think you look stunning tonight, that’s all.”

She giggled, gently elbowing me. Picking up her fork, she stabbed into her salad.

Leaning over closer to her, I whispered in her ear, “Understatement in my opinion. I would love to take you right here.”

Losing control of her fork, it made a clanking sound as it fell onto the deck. She gulped as I leaned away from her, propping my elbow on the table. I mockingly grinned.

“I'm sorry bella,” I taunted, “did I fluster you?”

She grabbed my fork, stabbing it into her salad as she peered at me smirking.

“You have a second fork you know,” I pointed out. “You didn't have to steal mine.”
