“I don’t know. But Jasper only just left a while ago.” We’d watched him jump into a Jaguar and peel out of the parking lot. The entire thing made me stick my tongue out, making the girls laugh and make their own lewd gestures. He was just such a douche.

“Have you guys ever seenGood Girls?”April asks and I twist around to look at her. She grins. “This is just like that.”

“Um,” Molly starts and gives April a look. “I’ve seen that, and this isnothinglike that.”

“What? Sure, it is. We’re all ladies tracking down bad dudes.”

“We’re not here to murder anyone,” Molly retorts.

“What is this show?” I ask, giving April an incredulous look.

“Theyrarelymurder anyone.”

“What?” I twist back to watch the building and Viviana is outright laughing, Quinn along with her. “We’re not murdering anyone. We’re merely watching to see where he ends up.”

“Sure,” April mumbles. “Until we see something that he doesn’t like, and he catches us and the only way to get out of it is…” She lets her pause hang in the air. “Murder.”

“You’re sick and twisted,” Molly comments. I turn my head to look at her. I’m surprised to find a smile on her face. “I like it.”

They high-five and I shake my head, blowing out a breath.

We sit and wait for another thirty minutes before the main building doors open up and out walks Carl Pierce, on his arm is a leggy brunette, she clings to him like she’s won the lottery and I grimace.

“I’m guessing that’s not his devoted wife.”

I sigh. “Nope. That’s not her.”

“What now?” Quinn asks, watching with the rest of us as they slide into his car and drive away.

“Follow him, Mavis,” I tell Viviana who does just that.

We keep a slight distance until someone moves out of the lane we’re in and suddenly we’re right behind him.

“Shit, not right behind him, haven’t you ever seen a spy movie?”

“What was I supposed to do? Park on the curb?” She gestures to the side, her voice rising to match mine.

“Um, I don’t think he’s paying attention to us,” Quinn remarks and we all look at the shadows in the car. Sure enough, the woman’s body is bent over Carl, her head nowhere to be seen.

“Eww,” we all say in unison.

“That’s just nasty. Have some self-respect,” April comments, taking another bite of her Slim Jim.

I roll my eyes. “How can you eat right now?”

She lifts her shoulders and looks at me wide eyed. “What? I’m hungry! I barely ate all day. Just some cereal for breakfast… and that sub for lunch… and a snack. But the snack wastiny!”

I shake my head, a laugh bubbling in my throat but I swallow it down and focus. Traffic moves again and we slow down considerably. “You’re going to get pulled over for not driving fast enough.”

“You told me not to get too close!” Viviana snaps.

“Well, yeah, but don’t be back here like we’re the Flintstones who can’t keep up!”

“What do you want from me?”

“Speed up!”

She slams on the gas and comes up on the car fast, only for the light to turn red.
