“And this?” she asked, picking up his wrist and kissing the dressing that covered the two-inch scar that nearly killed him.

“It wasn’t a deliberate attempt to end my life. I didn’t ever think that. I was just desperate to stop the noise in my head. I don’t even remember picking up the razor or considering what cutting myself would do. I just did it. I’m so sorry. I would never choose to leave you. Either of you. You’re my life. I just wanted to ease the pain.”

The more I listened to him, the angrier I got. What that woman did to him and the fact the label asked her to ‘take care’ of him was disgusting and, although she’d been sacked, it didn’t seem anywhere near enough. I wanted to do more, but right now, all I wanted to do was wrap the two people I loved more than anything else in the world in my arms and protect them from any more crap.

I typed out a message to Addi, telling her we needed to do something about Hazel and what she did to Gray. I admitted I had a plan but didn’t give her too many details, asking her to look into a few things for me. Addi messaged back, telling me to call her in a couple of days so we could chat some more about my idea.

“Everything okay, Eth?” Ivy asked, lifting her head from where she laid across Gray’s lap, while he ran his fingers through her curls.

“It will be, princess. Now, what would you like to do this afternoon? How about pizza andPretty Woman?”

“There are other movies you know, Ethan?”

“Yeah, but none that make you smile as much, and we like to watch you repeat the entire thing, word for word.” I lowered myself down next to them, sighing as Gray’s lips found mine.

Chapter 27

Grayson

Iwoketothestunning morning early light of the beach house, wrapped around Ivy but noticing immediately that Ethan was missing. When I checked my phone, it was only 4.54 am. I tiptoed from the bed, pulling on some sweats, before padding through the house to search for him. He was easy to find in the living room, stood, staring out of the window, a whiskey in hand.

“Ethan?”

“You should be resting.” When he spoke goosebumps flooded my skin

“I should be checking why my husband has vanished from our bed and is drinking whiskey all alone.”

“I like the sound of that.”

“What?”

“You, calling me your husband. We didn’t exactly get to celebrate being married, Gray. It only lasted a night. I’ll be honest, you’ve hurt us twice. I’m scared to do this again and make it three for three.”

I stalked towards him, wrapping my hand around his neck, pressing his forehead to mine. “I promise you, Ethan, you and Ivy are it. I know what I did, and I don’t blame you for being cautious with me, but I nearly died and when I was sitting in that shower, watching my life disappear down the drain, all I could think about is the time I’d lose with you both.”

A noise ripped from Ethan’s chest that was a mix of a cry and a growl before his lips slammed against mine. He wrapped his hand over the dressing on my arm. “I love you so much,” he mumbled against my mouth. “Don’t ever give up on us again. I don’t care what stands in the way. You will fight for us, Gray. Do you understand me?”

“I promise. I won’t let you slip away from me again.”

“And you fight for you. You fight to find a way to silence that shit in your head. You can’t keep hurting yourself, Gray. We could have lost you, for good. You could do something there’s no way to come back from. I couldn’t live with that. I can’t live without you.”

I nodded, hearing his voice, thick with emotion, tears threatening to fall from both of us.

His mouth found mine again, and he kissed me softly. I was so used to the fierceness of Ethan’s touch that this tenderness stole my breath. I couldn’t help but groan as he pulled my body to his, and his solid erection pressed hard against my stomach. I didn’t know how long we kissed like that; it felt like a lifetime, but nowhere near long enough.

Ethan skimmed the waistband of my joggers with his fingers, edging the head of my cock. “I’ve missed touching you, Gray,” he husked out against my neck as he slid under my pants, wrapping his hand around my hard length. He moved slowly, sending precum spilling from me. “You have a beautiful cock,” he whispered as his movements sped up and he gripped me tighter until my hips jerked against him with need.

“Ivy,” I panted out, so close to the edge I was worried I would come in my pants like a horny teenager. “Make up sex without our firefly doesn’t feel right.”

Ethan rubbed through my arousal that covered my cockhead, before pulling his fingers to his lips, licking them clean. Pushing me forward, he steered me back to our bedroom, his eyes dark and hooded with that look on his face I knew Ivy and I were going to love.

When we got back to our room, Ivy was stirring, her red curls splayed out across the white pillows, her green eyes fluttering open.

“Morning,” she whispered as she stretched, the sheets falling from her naked body.

Ethan moved to the bed, pulling Ivy to sit, nudging her curls from her face.

“You’re a beautiful sight, princess,” he murmured, placing open mouthed kisses down her neck. Leaning back on her hands, she curled her chest up toward Ethan, silently demanding that he moved his attention to her breasts, reminding me how confident she was in what she wanted from us during sex. He reached out his hand to me, and I pulled down my joggers and kneeled on the bed next to them, finding Ivy’s other breast with my mouth, loving the taste of her on her tongue.
