“Bar food?” She chuckles. “I thought you didn’t eat like that anymore. What happened to all those healthy alternative?”

I grin wolfishly. “Sometimes you have to cut loose and devour something that makes you feel good and tastes amazing. You know what I mean, baby girl.”

Her eyes lock with mine for half a second and it’s long enough to see that first spark of desire and lust.

That’s right, baby. You know exactly what I mean. My lips quirk in a smile. Then her eyes dip away from mine.

“Ummm. Yeah. You ready to go?”

“Of course.”

Following her, watching her hips sway under the bright red coat, I swallow roughly.

Dammit. I just need to bide my time just a little bit. It’s almost time.

At the bar, we laugh and eat cheeseburgers dripping with cheese and salty fries dipped in ketchup.

“Mmmm,” she moans, chewing on a crispy fry smothered in ketchup. “So good.”

I groan silently and shift in my seat. Lord, that is a fucking sexy sound and I want to hear it while I’m driving my big dick deep inside her soft, willing body.

That’s my home. That’s where I belong. I want to breed her and spend my days locked up in a room, wrapped up in her sweet arms and coating her walls in my seed until I’ve got her tied to me in every way possible.

But if she needs more, which that dream sounds like she does? I will do whatever it takes to make her happy.

“Hello, princess.” A deep, rough voice makes me look up, smiling when Dev bristles angrily.

“What do you want, Jude?”

“Just stopping to say hi.” He shrugs and pulls out a chair at the table. My eyes narrow in on his face. There’s something in his eyes that I never noticed before when he looks at Devin. “You got a problem with saying hi to an old friend, princess?”

She snorts and her dark eyes sparkle with banked flames. “We’re not friends, Judas! Not even slightly.”

He rocks back in his chair and I see a glimpse of pain in his green eyes. But he quickly hides it with a sneer. “Don’t tell my sister that, princess.”

She flinches and then sighs. “How is Christa?”

“She’s good. How long has it been since you went to see her, princess?”

Her narrow shoulders slump and her sweet smile turns down. “Too long. I’m sorry. I guess I haven’t been the best friend.”

He pats her arm and both of them flinch. “I know she understands you haven’t been up for seeing a lot of people.”

“She’s my best girlfriend though. I should have checked in on her sooner.”

“She said you were out there a couple weeks ago.”

“Yeah. But not for very long. I’ll have to make some time for a long visit.”

Jude’s firm lips turn up. “Let me know when and I’ll pop in and see you.”

Her wide eyes shoot to his. “I’m not sure why. You’ve made your feelings on me very plain over the years.”

He stands up and the look in his eyes makes me sit up and take notice. Want, need and regret. All of it rolled up in a quick flash of emotions that dart across his harsh features so fast that I’m not sure I really saw what I think I did.

He nods at me. “Nice to see you again, Micah. I’ll leave you to take care of Devin. See ya later.”

His tall lean figure ghosts into the crowd so fast that I can’t even figure out which way he went.
