“Well that was odd, baby girl.”

Her flushed cheeks and raspy breaths catch my eye. I look after Judas and grunt.

Is it possible that Judas has the same feelings for Devin that I have? And if he does, would he be willing to help me make her fantasy of multiple men a reality.

There aren’t many men that I would trust to be with my baby. But I trust Judas. He’s a good man. A little rough and wild but he is at heart a good guy.

That might be something to look into.

“Ready to go home, baby?”

She sighs, standing. “Yeah. I’m starting to get tired.”

“That’s okay. It’s just good that we got you out for a little bit.”

At the door, I smile and kiss her on the cheek, fighting the urge to push her inside the door and follow her, slamming her against the first hard surface I can find.

Her eyes are wide and confused and I can’t help but smirk at the thought that I’m closer now than I’ve ever been to getting exactly what I want.

A few more steps and I think I will have exactly what my heart has always wanted.

This woman. Forever. Soft belly rounded with my baby. Eyes full of love and lust.

“I’ll see you soon, baby girl. Now go on in there and have some sweet dreams.”

“Right. Night, Micah.”

CHAPTER3

Judas

“Hey, Judas. How ya doing?”

I groan, sure that I know exactly what Micah is doing here. I couldn’t hide how I felt when I saw Devin last night. And I’m sure Micah is here to warn me off.

“Hey, Micah. What’s up?” I go to lock my front door. As a security specialist, I make sure I take a quick glance around before I shut the door and lock it behind Micah.

He turns and his dark eyes drill into mine. I shift and then turn to walk in my apartment. The whole place is bare. Some people would call it minimalist. It’s not. I just never take time to do anything with it. It doesn’t feel like home. Just a place that I wander into in between jobs.

“Want something to drink?” I ask.

“Sure. You got a beer?”

“Yeah. What kind do you want? I only have lager and some Christmas ale that my sister gave me.”

“Lager is fine.” He turns and studies my place. “Interesting what you’ve done with this place.”

I open the fridge and grab two lagers. “Yeah, I’m gone a lot. I don’t really have much incentive to do anything with this place.” I hand him a beer and both of us take a seat on my leather furniture. They’re the only nice things in this room.

I lean back and take a deep swig of my beer, enjoying the chill.

“Mmm. Good beer,” Micah says.

“Yep.”

After several minutes of quiet, I lean forward putting my hands between my knees with my beer. “What exactly are you doing here, Micah? We’re not exactly besties. I don’t think I’ve said three words to you over the last two years.”

“You’re right. I wouldn’t say we’re best friends but we are friends. I think we have something in common though.”
