She rolls her eyes, "I followed her."

I sigh, "Why?"

She stops moving, "Because it was nearly five o'clock, and it's school property?"

"So you thought she was doing something wrong?"

She laughs, "No. Well… I don't know."

I pull her closer, threading my fingers with mine, "You can't help them all."

She looks down at me, brushing her lips against my cheek, "I can try."

"Are you guys gonna kiss?" Ellie sasses from the doorway, her tiny arms crossed over her chest.

"No," I scoff, "Gross."

Hanna raises her brow, "Gross?"

Ellie walks over next to her mom, picking her side, "Definitely not gross."

I show them both that I agree. I pull my hand around Hanna's jaw, cupping the back of her neck, "Not gross at all."

I kiss her.

Ellie starts giggling next to us, "I knew you guys used to kiss."

I bend down to Ellie's level, kissing her cheek, "Can't fool you."

Hanna brushes her fingers through Ellie's hair, "The sooner we all realize that, the better."

"Does that mean you guys are kissing partners now?" Ellie jumps on the bed, singing the K-I-S-S-I-N-G song.

I interrupt her, "Yeah, it means we're kissing now, that cool?"

She jumps off the bed with a thud, "I guess."

"You guess?" Hanna eyes her suspiciously.

"Yeah, I mean, I guess it's alright. Can I have a brother now?"

Hanna's eyes switch to me, something behind them I can't quite read.

"So, who's ready for dinner?"

Hanna raises her hand in excitement, and Ellie rolls her blue eyes at the subject change.

We eat dinner at a small restaurant in the middle of downtown and go back to my place after so Hanna can get her car.

"You know if you'd just move in here, you'd never have to leave."

She smiles, shutting her door, the window rolled down, "I'll be back in the morning to get Ellie."

I rush my words out, leaning into the window, "Or you could stay."

She laughs, "But what about Ellie?"

"What about Ellie?"
